I'm hoping to get some tires in within the next few weeks so I can install them while I have access to a heated garage for some other work I've got to do. I've got a 2500 SLT with factory 265x70r17 tires, and am thinking of going to a 17x9" wheel with a -6 offset with a 33x12.5 tire.

I've read that I'll need a wheel with a different offset but nothing I read really covers what kind of offset. I'd like to avoid the roller skate look, but have no idea if -6 is going to poke the wheels WAY out. If it matters much My interest in is the Duratracs I've had them in the past and they did well year round. I have considered an MT but really don't know much about using them with towing.

I'd also like to know if a wheel with a 3400lb max load is enough. I've got a particular wheel I like and have had on multiple jeeps over the years, I would like to keep that trend going.

You don't need any offset or spacers for 33's on a 2500. Height-wise, that size is about what comes stock. In my opinion, 33's are too small on these trucks.

I have 35x12.5s on stock 20s and I think they look about right proportionally with stock suspension. They do rub the radius arms slightly at full lock. Not an issue for me.

Depending on the width of the rim, zero offset should be close to flush, maybe a little on the outside. A positive offset will bring the rim/tire in, a negative offset will push the rim/tire out.

Agree that you should be able to run 33's on stock rims without issue.

So if the factory wheels are 17x8 with an et of 43 a wheel that is 17x9 with an et of -6 should work?

-6 is wayyy to much negative offset if you don't want the wheels & tires to stick out too much.

The offset difference you are talking about is just shy of 2" when converting the 49mm to inches.

I run an 18x9 wheel with 35 x 12.50's on my 2500 with a +18mm offset. It sticks out a little past the OEM flares as the difference in offset is just a bit shy of an inch.

I have no rubbing issues.

Thank you. That's exactly the type of info I needed

Customwheeloffsets.com has a gallery where you can put in make/model/lift/wheel and tore specs and it will filter through customer's trucks. That way you can get an idea of how it will look.

Advice on good places to look? I'm finding a lot of really stand out black and chrome flashy wheels. I'm just looking for a basic wheel something like the procomp 7069 or Mickey Thompson classic 3.

Are 285x70R17 on factory 17x8 wheels safe to fit with no rubbing.
