I swear I read it was 2 years....time will tell
You may be right and probably did read what you read correctly, I was just saying that in past pattern, the 3rd-Gen HD’s didn’t come out till 2003 and when the 4th-Gen HD’s came out, it wasn’t until 2010 so maybe they’re changing that, who knows.

As far as when the 2nd-Gen body style came out, I honestly can’t remember if that new design hit all the trucks at once or not. lol.

Local Detroit news says retooling is supposed to be complete by 2020. So most likely we will have 2021 MY for HD. Which will probably come out in 2020.

I was kind of disappointed they didn't upgrade the engines, they just stuck an electric start/generator on there. I'm one of those people that turns me off the most, I don't want my truck turning off at red lights. Can you imagine how weird thats gonna be with loud exhaust? I hope they all don't come standard with those damn things.

I agree, and I too was hoping for some V8 motor tweeks. When I first read about the e-torque on Monday I was pretty turned off. By Tuesday my Ram guy let me know it would be an option for the Tradesman which is what I would order. I'm still on the fence about ordering one......

E Torque is sweet it will make the Hemi more snappy and I believe I saw a video that showed the ability to turn start/stop off right in the center like you would to control heated seat or other feature. E torque will be bad ass without issues turbos cause.

Anyone on the forums see this yet? https://www.allpar.com/trucks/ram/2018-1500.html When is more screen too much? I think the 8.4" screen (which I plan to upgrade to from my 5") is just the right size personally. The new 12" I just think is so big as to be a distraction. Should be interesting to see it will be available aftermarket on older models in time.

Yes it does look very similar to that. That would be as big as I would go I think. Alpine has their restyle kit which is that size as well I think.

The nice thing about the bigger screen, from what I have read, is that you will be able to do split screens and have two different items up at the same time, Nav and Radio for instance.

I seen they mention the 19 rebel gets new borg warner 48-11 and 48-12 transfer cases. Anyone know if this is across the board or rebel only? Also any info in comparison to the current cases?

Could be wrong but I believe those cases are listed as "available" on all models. Maybe with the new "Offroad Package" which is optional. We may have to wait and see as more details come out. But so far seems promising, and 48-12 should be a much better case than the 44-44. Not sure about 48-11?

Just watched the video on The Fast Lane Truck with Chevy talking about their new Silverado. Honestly, I somehow missed that they were even doing a new Silverado this year. Seems strange that they redid it in 2014, then refreshed it in 2016, and now in 2019 it's already a new model. It looks goofy to me, it's like a Colorado and a Silverado has this weird ****** baby. The interior honestly looks too much like the outgoing Silverado. The 2019 RAM has a pretty cool new panoramic sunroof (I know, I know sunroofs aren't for everyone) but the Silverado still has the rinky dink tiny sunroof and the Chevy spokesman looked a little butthurt when the host asked him about it.

Chevy is making decisions as of late that are only going to make things easier for RAM to grow and take away their market share.

I read that the wheel base is 4” longer and they gave the backseat more room, is the overall truck longer? I only have 1” to spare in my garage as it is. Glad they got rid of the antenna, hits the bottom of the garage door every time I pull in.

Redesigns every 2 years do not look good for a brand. Fanboys give Ram crap for having "such an old truck". The truck has only increased in sales every year and overall is a better product than the GMs. I would not be interested in buying a Ford or Chevy. Their "Redesign it every 2 years theory" is also probably hurting people's resale values. Resale is another reason people think about switching brands. If you buy a new truck and next model year it is obsolete, you will lose resale fast. A lot of people want the next best thing, so they get suckered in by Chevy to trade in, lose money, and then before they can blink another "new" truck is out. Imagine people who bought 2014 Silverado's on the "first" redesign. They are now on what, 3rd new truck already since then. Lol.

Why would I want to buy the new Silverado when, if history is anything to go by, it will be redesigned by 2021.

Silverado's design has been ALL over the place since 2014. I don't even know what the hell I'm looking at any more. The only thing they haven't touched is the interior, which is what needed the most attention.

I think the best thing they have coming is the I6 diesel. But who knows. Was surprised they made it a straight 6 honestly.

Agreed. Chevy should have stopped at the 2014 model and produced it for a decade like they did in the 90's. Ram made a killing with their 2009 design, and they'll make a killing with this design. It looks even meaner than the current style (Limited not included). I contacted my salesman who sold me my current Ram and he told me that he and the owner of the dealership I bought my truck from just went in together and bought a dealership about 45 minutes south. He said whenever I'm ready to get a great deal, call him and he'll have my '19 built to my specs. Maybe they'll offer a deal to those with a 1 year old 4th gen truck to trade in. In my mind, I've already picked my build :D

I just hope out of all this, I can snag a set of those taillights and they will bolt right up to my 14 with no issues

Sounded like this takes place of the starter so there won’t be any overrides for this design.

Looking at dashboard pictures, there is a factory Start/Stop OFF button right below to the left of the rotary shift knob.
