I have read about 20 articles on this recall and I still cant figure out:

1) is my truck effected.
2) Exactly what goes wrong and how
3) Is my parked 2500 vehicle going to roll down my driveway.

My 2015 Ram 2500 6.4l is going to need it done. After hearing about this recall I started my truck and was able to put the shift lever in drive without my foot on the brake! Being old school, and not having any kids that ride in my truck it is not a big concern for me. This is how it was years ago although it is definitely safer to have the shifter locked until the brake is pushed.
When I remote start the vehicle the shifter is locked in park until I turn the ignition switch to run. I prefer the shifter either on the column, or the floor, and will share my rotary dial experience when I had the 2013 Ram 1500.

I remember a few times the rotary dial shifter being left in drive when I thought I had put it in park. It happened twice through the years when I would stop on the apron of my driveway to get the mail and then get back in the truck to see it was still in drive!! :-( When I stop on my driveway apron the trucks front wheels are usually at the beginning of the hill. I then to go up the incline to then park the truck.
I had reached over without looking and turned one of the other knobs... :)) So much for being in a hurry!
Another time I was backing the camper into a spot and had to move it over (away from the electrical/water stack). When I went to back up the truck it went forward when I hit the accelerator. Once again, I had rotated one of the other dials... :)) Well, at least I am not ashamed to admit I am not perfect... :))

1) If you have a column shift probably
2) The Shift interlock basically gets stuck in the open position allowing the shifter to be bumped or pulled out of park without without the brake interlock released. The fix is likely going to be replacing the interlock or installing a completely new style. Perhaps requiring a button or lever on the shifter.
3) There are multiple ways this can happen. Its always in your best interest to use the parking brake any time you park your vehicle. Parking pawls can fail, shifting linkage can loosen and prevent full engagement of park, shifters can be bumped in the case of the recall, and drivetrain parts can fail.

Don't get too excited yet. There was talk of the water pump recall on the 6.7 CTD for a couple months before the letters went out and the website had the recall info. You might still be included, just not officially yet.

You might want to check here too...

https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.html

...I put my vin in the site the OP posted and it said no info. Using the Mopar site it still lists the water pump recall for mine, nothing on this recall though (so far).

Well, it did pop up the potential recall: Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) locking pin. However, no fix or dates yet. Thanks for that site.
