Go Recon 3rd Annual Truck Bowl Contest... if you entered the contest, did you get this email???

So last week or whatever I entered the Go Recon 3rd Annual Truck Bowl Contest to win some free Go Recon ****.

So i ended up getting an email from one of the employees at Go Recon.

Here is the email:

My question is, for anyone else who entered into this contest, did you get this same email? If so, did you call? What did they want? I'm thinking it's just a sales tactic and they will try to sell me lights once they get me on the phone.

If anyone got the same email or similar and called, please let me know. I'd rather avoid the call all together if it's just a sales call.

I would call but don’t give them any info- could be a phishing scam. Think about it , they tell little old ladies they need money for Jr. to make bail, or fake warranty contracts. Their promotion could of easily been tapped. Just don’t give out to much personal info- or and before u call google go recon, contact them and ask if he is an employee or if they are participating in the give away blah blah blah. Just be smart

Make sure the address in his email sig is actually one of their addresses.

I would call as well but as stated above don't give them too many details, call customer service and ask for Ryan B that way they have to transfer you if he works there.

I didn't enter their contest but got a similar email with an infected attachment. late last week. The one I got had an email I had sent them back in Sept quoted. I called Recon's main number and was told that their email system got hacked last week.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. The email is at the domain @4amg.com so it's definitly a scam. I was debating to call and waiting to hear from someone on the forums about it. Thanks.

I got a reply when I entered and the guy wanted me to call cause he had a great deal on headlights and tail lights for me but I never called. Said to ask for Ryan baker in the email.

Actually, 4amg.com is the real domain for Recon's people. That's the domain my real original emails from them came from as well. The scam ones came from that domain because someone got into their system and used it to send the scam emails.

If you call, I would go to Recon's web site, grab their posted number and call that. I would not call the number in the email.
