I have been hearing an odd rattle on bumpy roads. I finally found it but don't know how to fix it. So, it is the brake pedal that is rattling. Is there a way to tighten that bad boy up?

I think I have the same issue. It seems like a light "click click" every now and then over small bumps or holes. I also thought it was coming from the steering column. Let me know if you find any solution as to what it might be if its not the brake pedal. I'll check my pedal later today.

It is the pedal. Just got to get under there and see if I can tighten something.

So I actually took a look. The pedal lever is held in place with a stupid clip so can't tighten. The other part of the rattle is there is some sensor with a plunger that detects how far down the pedal is pushed. Anyone know what that does? May try shooting some white lithium on the joints and see if that helps.

Sensor is probably for the trailer brake controller.

Mine isn't the pedal. I can put a little pressure on it when driving and I can still hear it. It seems like it is coming from the steering column where the firewall is. There is a large rubber gasket and it might be it.

My 2010 Laramie had that noise. I tracked it down to the u-joint between the end of the column and the shaft that goes through the firewall. If you grab it and rotate it back and forth by the joint you can feel it in the palm of your hand.

Never fixed it, traded the truck for a Rebel instead. Seems to be a common complaint.

I've got a 2016 Sport that has the same rattle going over bumps, except mine is the parking brake pedal. I originally though mine was the brake pedal also, but applying pressure to it didn't change the noise. Slightly depressing the the parking break pedal (or applying pressure from the side) while going over bumps did make it go away though. I glanced down there once and it seems that the parking brake pedal was probably bouncing around and banging against the pedal stop/rubber pad and causing the rattle. Haven't had a chance to try to fix it though. Was also contemplating taking it in for warranty work and seeing if they had a fix for it, just haven't got around to it yet..... Guess I've got used to it also, don't seem to notice it as much anymore.

Any luck? I have the same issue, when driving straight down the highway. Doesn't happen/rattle when I hit every bump, but I think it is getting worse.

@Hemi395 posted a good video on the steering shaft and the genuis rubber gasket they put it. Double edge sword, if you replace with metal or poly, you loose a little anti vibration, but rubber fails and makes steering loose, so it's a choice. IMO the braking aspect can still be related in theory, braking adds a lot of pressure to suspension joints, this being one of them.

Clicking is usually in axle cv joints, I am surprised some of them last as long as they do. Cheap replacement item.
