I've actually use Barkeep's Best friend, a bucket of water and two rags to surprisingly good results. The Mountaineer's headlights were yellowed to hell and I used this setup. If the one wasn't cracked and had a bunch of condensation on the inside you'd swear that they were new.

What did you order for a cover? Man, I need to get one something awful. Driving around, my temp gauge just barely cracks the first tick mark and my heat has suffered major as a result. Hell, it gets so cold my overdrive refuses to engage so I've spent most of the week driving the highway with overdrive off. Even crusing 2,500 RPM does nothing to warm things up.

I suspect that the higher crusing RPM finished off my already-screwed muffler. Leaving work, I started the engine and it sounded like a tractor. Got home, looked underneath and tada! Muffler/tailpipe is no longer connected to the intermediate pipe. Have to admit, it sounds kinda beastly north of 2,500 RPM but I don't think the local coppers are going to like it as much, LOL.
EBay cover.

Try turning max ac on with full heat after windshield is defrosted and stuff. Recirculates cab air through the heater core. You may be saying "so what?" Well that air is warmer and then send it back through again... and again.... and again. Trucks sweating me out of it now

Straigjt pipe was only ever any good on mine with headers. They seemed to eliminate a lot of the crackle that it otherwise had

Just got back from the exhaust shop. I honestly liked the sound of basically no muffler and it wasn't quite as ridiculously loud as I thought it would be, so I just opted to have a piece of pipe put in place to join the intermediate and tail pipes. Honestly, it sounds virtually identical to when I had the Cherry Bomb in place although there seems to be less drone at low speeds. I don't think I'll run a muffler ever again, LOL.

Drove 300 miles over the weekend just to change the fuel pump out in 17 degree weather as the O'rielly parking lot. . . .

View attachment 116300

Yes, I know I didnt lift the bed, dropping the tank was easier with the shell and stuff we had in the bed...

Been there and done that. My fuel pump quit during a hunt, 100 miles round trip to change it out in camp. Luckily my bro had a small floor jack that was invaluable for supporting the tank and I always carry my toolbox whenever I go out of town.
No fun laying on the cold wet dirt of a hunting camp.

^ Reminds me of the time when pops and I replaced the starter on the plow truck. Snow on the ground and freezing days before but the day of the job, the temps soared into the 40's. Felt real nice...until I had to lay on the slushy ground which ended up becoming completely shaded shortly after removing the old starter. Laying in slush = totally soaked + ambient temperature which suddenly dropped below freezing again = heavy damned misery. I was shivering by the time I got the new starter bolted in and, wanting to quickly finish, rushed while reconnecting the leads. Ended up stripping the bottom threads on one of the solenoid studs (resulting in much swearing on my part) and had to rummage around to find some washers to fill in. By the time we rounded some up, the sun was setting and the wind started blowing. Ugh. Never felt so relieved to hear an engine crank and start in my life.

If I had something to record video, I would. Yes, I'm probably the only 20-something-year-old on the planet without a smart phone. I might be able to use my laptop's web cam, though I'd have to muck around to see if I can record sound.

Came across a Mopar Performance M1 4-barrel on auction. Of course, being drunk as ****, I placed a bid thinking that it was a 2-barrel and only when I logged on this morning did I realize that it's a 4-barrel with a 2-barrel adapter (d'oh!). Not sure how big a screwup I made but if I win it, I guess I'll have a new manifold next week, LOL.

And of course, it'll be time to hit up Ryan for a tune.

Fixed my 4x4 today and threw some weight in the bed for the impending ice storm overnight.

Finished another headlight build today. These will replace my current retrofit that was thrown together in an hour with spare parts. Install tomorrow. Also going to be adding a winter front cover. Not sure how i feel about it so we'll see.

Oh, also on the way is a BD Diesel 3rd gen style track bar conversion and 2 200cell cats to quiet down the exhaust a bit. They're going in with v-band flanges so that later they'll be easy to swap with pipe should i need to.

Why didn't you go with the DOR trackbar conversion if you don't mind me asking? I thought it was considered the best? I was going to go with them when my current wears out so if the BD is better I'll def change plans.

I just prefer the bent 3rd gen style bar and bushings. I can replace this bar should it ever wear out with a regular 3rd gen bar as well

First above freezing day in a while and pretty much all the snow is melted. So, I took advantage and decided to run the old girl more properly during my weekend booze run. In other words, cruising at ludicrous speed while jamming Metallica! Must say, the lack of a muffler did pep her up a bit. Hell, on the way back home, I passed a couple cars, looked down at the speedo and saw that I was doing 85 and still pulling. In overdrive! I must say, the 10-plies and the added weight of the brush guard firmed up the front real nice. Feels much more stable at the 80-mark.

That pain in the ass rumbling noise that I complained about a couple months ago is back. Been driving real soft the last few weeks due to crappy roads and the issue basically disappeared but now that they're clearing up and I'm driving more normal, it's definitely back. Dammit. Seems to be coming from the rear rather than the front like I originally thought. Thinking of pulling the diff cover and checking things out (translation, crossing my fingers that I don't find any metal bits in the oil). Of course, the insane part of me that prefers to ignore money is kind of hoping that something is up so I'll have an excuse to get the axles rebuilt with 4.10 gears RIGHT NOW!

Sanded and buffed my headlights today on lunch. They were starting to yellow again. 3000gr and compound cleared em right up

Start with 600 grit wet sand and work up to 2000 grit wet sand working side to side only. Then spray with rustoleum ultra clear coat paint very lightly with multiple coat allowing drying in between. For extra allow to dry for a couple days then sand lightly with 2000 and 3000 and buff with a paint buffing compound. And finish with a car wax. Also make sure to use UV protection paint. That way the headlight won't go yellow again.

Literally not telling me anything I didn't already know.
I wet sanded em probably 5 or more years ago. I just never cleared em, never hazed over, just started yellowing.

Hmm, interesting idea. Maybe I'll score some new assemblies later this year and then spray them. Can't believe that I never actually gave thought to doing that to begin with, LOL.

Scored these yesterday. Rear bench, passenger bucket, front center seat and cupholders are all perfect. Dirty, but perfect. Driverside bucket is a little torn up snd stuff but ill have it re-upholstered so it is perfect. Pulled from a sport model in the local picking yard. I'll be going back later for the door panels. They also have a tan leather setup that i may pull and flip to pay the upholstery costs

Also, high flow cats and vbands arrived early so I've started welding that up. Would finish it today but it's a little rainy and we have a snow storm on the way. Track bar conversion is here and not doing it yet for the same reasons.

Lastly i got the new headlights aimed

**** reminds me when I did my interior swap.

Keep in mind for the front seats the bottom cushions on those will swap with passenger side it is 4 10mm bolts. The cushion is shaped a bit differently for seatbelt cutout, but i guarantee you only you will know.

Thats what I did for my lowered ram

I paid over $300 for my door panels with the "wood grain" on them.
