Hi,

I noticed lately that the carpet on the driver side is wet. I have husky carpets and I checked to see if they were leaking because we have winters over here. The carpets are not leaking. The carpet is wet from the door sill a little bit further. Could It be coming be from the windshield or maybe even drain plugs from the door?

Could also be snow that fell off your shoes when entering the truck and leaked behind the mats ! I assume you have Husky Floor mats with the high edges ? Also your guess is possible as well! Please Update when you find out for sure ! Thanks

I’ve seen water come from the door seals if they’re not tight enough. Close the door on a piece of paper in various spots and see how hard it is to pull out. Could be from anywhere around the seal and running down.

try checkin your third brake light. they are notorious for leaking and that water can find its way to about anyplace in the cab.

Check the door seal to make sure it's not folding over and failing to seal.

Ok I did some tests today, I removed the door sills and underneath it was wet a bit but not much. I checked underneath the carpet and there was no water there. So I decided to run some water on the windshield and did not see any water run down. Then I ran some water around the door with the door closed and no water either. I also tried running water on the third brake light and nothing either. Since the carpet was only damp on the side close the door sills its basically snow that is giving me the issue. The husky mats are running down the door sills but the water can still run down a bit and get the carpet wet. So i’ll just be careful when there’s water on the mats.

Well it turns out there was another issue with my wet carpet. This weekend while driving I noticed there was a little bit of water on my center console, then I looked up and there was a few drips of water on my button that opens the rear window. So I immediately thought of the issue with the 3rd brake light. I also figured there was an issue since I noticed on cold mornings that my front windshield had some frost from the inside of the glass. So I decided to take it out and true enough the foam that is suppose to seal the light was pretty much gone, even full of dirt. There was a bit of water as well inside the frame behind the light. I took some rubber seals that people are using and should fix my issue. I should have taken out the light as soon as I seen some water on the carpet since I read this issue several times in forums. But anyways, problem fixed for now.

It u have water up front it's probably coming from the satellite antenna. It's a known leaker as well. The third brake light has no way to run up into the front of the headliner. If u have a sunroof u could have clogged drain lines as well.

ok I guess I could check the satellite antenna and see if it's sealing properly. How do I remove it, i'm assuming it's from a screw under the top liner? Any tutorials for a RAM somewhere?

If the rubber is not sealing properly, do I have to replace the antenna or can I just replace the rubber strip?

I'm pretty sure u have to pull down the liner. Mine is easier to see because I have a sunroof. I'm sure there r YouTube videos showing how to do it. As for the sealing of it I have always had good luck with weather strip u can buy at any hardware store. It shouldn't be too hard to do.
