Hey guys, I was plugging my pedal commander back in, and noticed this hole in what I assume is part of the ventilation system. It has a yellow mark by it as well. I assume this isn't supposed to be here? Anyone have a clue? Truck is a 2015 that has 26k on it, bought with 16k.

Does air come out of the hole when heat on ? Maybe last owner wanted to get his/her feet warmer ? Anything aftermarket in the dash ? Maybe they snaked wires ? Just my thoughts

That does not look sealed enough to be a vent duct(I could be wrong though). Maybe the previous owner ran wires through that hole like suggested above

mine had it to.thought it was to rough for a factory hole also so bought new vent for 40.00 and it had the same hole.its just the vent for the floor so it doesn't matter that air comes out of it it comes out the big end anyway.

My “hole cutter” had a bad day I guess lol. I’m guessing the part came sans hole from supplier so they’re doing a line modification, coulda at least had a drill with hole saw to be consistent, smh.

For those that have commented, perhaps there is a correlation with trucks with automatic climate control? (I’m reaching here...)

Auto climate and yes when put into head and feet air does come out. The hole sits just a little further back on the drivers side than the purpose made vent on the passenger side. But that's just due to the placement of the ducting, I'm going with it's supposed to be there cause that is the only ducting with any opening into the drivers side footwell.

funny, i found this on my 2015 sport about a month or two in to owning it. didt want to waste my time at a dealership and just put a large piece of black duct tape over it.

Nice to know im not the only one, lol
