Found this tilt switch on Parts Express, think I'll try this one.

I found one like that in Amazon for around $8 plus including shipping.

Check review on this, buyers says that Horizontal =open circuit, Vertical = closed circuit (light on).

Ebay has this

Maybe with a good load handling for LEDs only without using relay.
This is the only switch with specs unlike the others.

I ordered this

Look solid for me and it's only need one wire for connection(body is grounded).
Holes for this might needed for attachment though not a problem for me, I found lots of holes inside when I installed my tailgate ladder before, but can be modified using a zip ties or double adhesive.

Hope this switch is not difficult to align :p

Cool idea, but I'm looking to use my factory lights and remove the need to have to enter the cab or have any sort of extra remote.
So nothing on this ea?? I think it’s kinda strange that the factory bed lights don’t come on when we open tailgate but do when we unlock the doors? Wish there was a fix

I think that since sometimes you want to drive with the tailgate down, or take it off for a slide in camper, they don't want them on when driving, especially at night.

A white light shining in the back may well be illegal in some states, even if it isn't too bright (excepting license plate lights).

I just push the little switch on the bed wall and mine go on and off

I would buy the factory lights & just run a positive wire up to the battery area & use a fuse

I installed a pressure switch for my bed lights. Just more convenient that a separate switch somewhere.
My bed is always covered so bed lights are more beneficial than busing my cargo lights.
