And this old engine (hemi) needs an oil that mimics old oil formulations. It just so happens redine has high ammounts if ZDDP and calcium just like old formulations with the benafit of a super high dose of moly and the best (currently) base stock you could ask for.

I can tell you for a fact from my own experience that a brand new, new kid on the block, modern oil (PUP 0w40) with its modern amount of additive and all new modern base stock made my engine super noisy.

Modern
It doesn't have flat tappet cams that benefit from zddp.

FCA also gave $2000.00 bonus's to 60,000 employees after the TRUMP tax cut. The CEO was on Fox the other day telling about how good these tax cuts are for business.
Also giving some part time staff option to become full-time employee.

If the CEO actually does what he said. That's an enthical individual.

Hmmm. A cam in block , pushrod engine, like the FCA hemi is a dinosaur eh? The age of a particular design doesn't equate to obsolescence. As long as these kind of engines can perform efficiently, make good power and meet cleanliness standards and still not break the bank, they are by no means obsolete. GM still prefers that same design in their LS series of V8's, and they're very good engines.

I guess by your definition, the Cummins in line 6 cylinder in your signature, a cam in block, mushroom solid lifter flat tappet, pushrod engine, is also a dinosaur. I certainly don't think so. I've owned two, and they are great motors.

Good designs are timeless. Maybe at some point the only engines being of by OEM's will be little turbocharged 1 liter overhead cam screamers, but I won't be driving one of them.

Flat tappet engines aren't the only engines that benefit from ZDDP , they require more I'll agree with that .

It is a dinosaur. Doesn't mean I don't like it. I just don't buy into the past over present circle jerk. There are phenomenal engines of the past. However beside nostalgia, new powerplants with modern designs wipe the floor with them. Chrysler didn't build a cast iron, cam in block, 16 valve v8 because it was better, it was because they were poor and it was cheaper to produce and easy to market. They left potential on the table to save money.

At least gm finally move to the lighter aluminum, but the LS is still a dinosaur as well. I can't speak much to go favorably. Any gm product Ive owned has been a nightmare.

Who said an engine has to be low displacement and turbocharged. We are not talking about econobox sports cars here. We are talking about engine design in general. The cummins is at least stepping up the game to 4 valves per cylinder. However that doesn't mean by any stretch it's a modern design or not archaic.

Well this will make you smile. Got a couple shipments today and ready to do (3) oil changes this weekend.

Daughter’s 2010 Expedition, Son’s 1975 Plymouth Duster, and my 2012 Ram CC with 109K on her.

Got a case of 5W-30, a couple gallons of 5W-20, couple gallons of 5W-30, a case of S1, and Royal Purple filters for them as well.

Team Redline!!!!!

He had some good ideas (kinda along the same line as Trump) just wasn’t presidential material. You could say he was partially the reason Bush didn’t win in 92.....it’s cool now, I got over it [emoji15].

He was the original Trump, business man concerned with out sourcing jobs. But the corporate right won the day and every day until Trump. Now you have a guy that is a real threat to the far left and right, and you see the result. The swamp is scared, lol. If Pero didn't go independent, Bush sr would have won over Clinton for sure.

Bush 37%
Pero 19%
Clinton 43%

I will say that Clinton wasn't a bad president, kind of middle of the road guy like Bush sr. Back then people were in the middle, what we have had since is madness. I just thought it was interesting to see a Bush sr poster.

I'm using Petro Canada full synthetic in my 5.7 currently as I get discounted oil changes until my extended warranty is up at 200K kms. After that I'll switch it over to Amsoil like I run in the other vehicles from cars, motorcycle to various small engines.

I did not know that Petro Canada had their own brand of oil and I even gas up there once and a while.

I wonder if they make it and what quality it is.
