Great transformation picture! I am in love with those mud slingers! They complete the look of the truck I think! Slick black bumper and lights too.

It’s just plasti dip for now. I’ve got to do the other side of it. I taped off and did one side but haven’t gotten to the other. I’m going to replace my beat up rear bumper sometime soon and get a black one also.

You should check out the move bumpers. It's a kit you weld yourself and is way cheaper than others that are already fab'd up. I'm checking them out soon with the next year or so

I will look at it. I don’t mind factory bumpers, just dislike the chrome. I’m looking into some bullet hole style wheels in black. I don’t have a very high amp welder so I’d have to hire someone to do the welding.

My shocks are set to arrive Thursday and I’ll be home Friday evening at the latest. I may be home Thursday evening again because freight is slow and sometimes they have trouble finding me a new load to go home with and I get sent home empty for the weekend.

It felt good to back out of parents driveway and not hear even the tiniest bit of scrubbing from my front tires on the inner fenders [emoji106]

I checked out the bumpers. I like them but I want to say that I saw some already welded on eBay for maybe $200 more? I can’t remember. I browsed just for fun a while back. My next big thing will be another new tire so that I can throw two new tires on front and put my fronts on the rear cause they’re all chopped up, and wheels. I am going aluminum too so that I can cut down the weight of my wheel/tire combo just a bit.

I don’t know what is different between my truck and yours, but I know a guy who has some 2” front spacers laying around [emoji16]

Got the new shocks put on that I ordered from rough country this morning, then took it and got my alignment. It rides awesome and feels even more awesome to drive. It’s hard as hell to see cars over my hood when pulling in parking spots though [emoji23]

Pulled up my build sheet, based on my VIN.
Apparently I have the anti spin rear axle.. which I’m assuming is just a limited slip (I have some sort of electronic plug on my rear axle housing but I highly doubt it’s some sort of factory electronic locker) One day I’ll regear it too.

No more big plans really.
I’m going to measure my leaf springs real quick and make sure they’re the correct width, and eventually I’ll order some 1-2” lift shackles. Right now my next thing is to extend my front axle vent hose, and mount it much higher up. Later I’m going to attempt to fab a splash guard to go around it.

Changing my oil and filter next weekend when I get home from work, and soon I’ll put my blue/extended rear brake hose on. I still need to wipe off excess grease from my front end and going to add a little more since it’s been driven and the grease could get worked into all the little crevices.

I’m going to be talking to the bank about buying a house tommorow so I’ll be busy and I’ll be tighter with my money for a bit until I get settled in and comfortable with my new monthly expenses.

Ordered a couple parts.
Been wanting to tighten my steering a little more and also protect my new gearbox from wearing out early. Also my blower motor sometimes won’t come on without bumping it, and other times when driving, I’ll notice it suddenly stopped blowing.... not cool when it’s cold as hell outside.

In other words, I ordered a steering brace and blower motor [emoji23]

Also picked up a new rear output seal for my transfer case at the dodge dealer. I noticed a tear in the boot portion and the inner part where the driveshaft goes in, is slightly damp. The truck has over 101k so the seal is about due for replacement anyway.

Just giving a little TLC. We are going over to Pensacola Florida in it this weekend to get my grandma and go shopping and eat.

Been looking at houses but I had some funds to play around with this week so I bought useful parts. Loving the little added height so far. I want to go up a little more on the back already

We took the truck to Pensacola yesterday and got my grandma and went shopping and to lunch. Truck rode great, but I hit a bump while turning onto her street and heard a loud pop. I noticed it when dropping her off too and something felt odd while driving home.

I had Alicia turn the steering wheel back and forth while I laid under it (Parking brake on of course) and I quickly noticed that my drop tracbar bracket was rotating some inside the original bracket when turning and that’s the cause of the pop. I tightened as much as I could, but it still moves some. I didn’t have a cheater bar handy, but I’ll be fixing that issue 100% this weekend.

Finally found me a 8” drop hitch. Scored it for a cheap $15 at a closeout store and got a 5/8 pin there too. I tossed the little clip though and put a padlock through the hole in the pin. No dip****s are going to be stealing my stuff..

Got my steering brace in while we were away, and I may have time to put that on this coming weekend too, along with my new blower motor for my heat/air, and extend my front axle breather hose into the top of the engine bay and hopefully also get my extended rear brake hose installed. I’ve been busy.. possibly looking at a house Saturday if the realtor contacts me back.

Worked flawlessly for my grandma getting in

They’re the “can’t ***** 2000” model. I got tired of hearing people throw a tantrum when they rode so I built some out of boredom. I actually came up with the design as I went along. Besides working on my trucks, I like woodworking so it was a fun project. They’re pretty heavy. I used 2x4’s and a mixture of lag screws and some wood screws. I would have used all lag screws but I ran out and had the wood screws already. I used some super short screws I found when working hvac to screw down the strips of carpet on the steps for grip. I’m working now on making cutouts in non stress areas to try and shave 2-3LBS off the weight of the steps.

****** night photos, and yes, there’s a permanent mud stain under my hood.

Extended my front axle vent hose about 2-3 foot and brought it up to the wiper cowl area instead of the shock tower (****** factory location.. just asking to take in water)

New blower motor. Seems to blow harder and hopefully won’t cut out while driving.. that’s a big no no when it’s freezing cold outside and I need my heater

Better photo of the vent hose relocation. It’s not so muddy looking with natural light

I tried installing my steering box brace, but when the brace is bolted, the steering shaft doesn’t line up in the center of the hole where it should. Either they didn’t make the slots long enough (I could shift the brace over slightly if I had more play) or someone messed up and put the plate too far over when they welded it on.

I don’t have a welder big enough for that metal thickness so it’s either pay someone to weld the plate once I grind it off and move it, then paint the fresh metal OR take a dremel with a grinding stone and make the slots for the bolts slightly longer so that I can shift it over some to line everything up. I haven’t decided what the best option is. Either way, I’ll spend money because I’ll have to atleast buy a dremel since I don’t own one. [emoji849]

Next weekend I will try to find time and install my rear extended brake hose. I picked up more fluid today so I can bleed the brakes once it’s installed. I will also hopefully be tackling my transfer case seal. Picked up almost $30 worth of synthetic fluid for it today. Also going to go ahead and order lift shackles for the rear and go up 1” or 2” more on it.

Looked at the house today that we want, but it’s gonna need a roof so we have to get some estimates and I need to finish bank approval. The megacab is going to be putting in some work hopefully soon. When we move, I’ll be pulling a tandem axle trailer with the large/heavy stuff and I’ll stack my bed sky high. Trying to move in only 2 trips (it’s about 35+ miles from where we live. Moving to the sticks)

Got the fluid last night and some
Gloves, and installed my extended rear brake hose. Can’t really see it currently but once I lift the back more it’ll be a nice subtle change. Plus, I don’t have to worry about ripping it off since it’s longer than stock.

Not a done deal just yet but my bank is being helpful. I got home from work early and going to run paperwork by so I can start my loan application. I’m trying to not get my hopes too high because I always do and it’s really crushing when stuff falls through after that. I’m hopeful though. I have really good credit that I’ve been building for a couple years now and I’ve saved a good downpayment so I feel a little comfortable. [emoji851]

Accidently ordered 1500 shackles, when I needed 2500 shackles. I knew this, but I clicked buy before double checking. Selling or sending these back, but I already ordered the correct ones and they should be here by the end of the week, or the first of next week. They do 1-2” depending on how you install them. I’m debating on which one to do.
