Cruise control programming for low speed possible?

Hi all,

At my daily ride to work I have to pass 2 school zones with a speed limit of 30km/h (18mph)
I would like to use my cruise control there, because police check often the speed (that's absolute ok)
But I fear that I don't note kids when I check my speed.
I added a headup display in my truck but I would prefere way more to use my cruise control.
Its maybe possible to set up/programming the cruise control for such a low speed?

Don't think you can program the cruise for anything lower then 35 MPH. I'd think messing around with your cruise control would be more likely to cause an accident then just going slow and glancing down at your speedometer.

Messing around with cruise control? You mean setting it, and then continuing to drive? How could using CC at slow speeds be more dangerous than using it at 75?

I know my 2015 Challenger has the ability to set the CC setting's low end lower in the PCM, but I can only see it with a programming suite like HP Tuners.

18 mph is difficult to maintain. I drive through two school zones on my way to work, too, and 20 mph is hard.

I have trained mine to go as low as 25. Set cruise at 30, use the down arrow to lower the cruise speed and you can get down to 25, then drive for a couple of blocks. Once at 25 it will kick in the next time you need that speed. Mine will not work any lower.

My '17 2500 6.4 CC will not allow any setting under 25 mph.

Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!

With a GDE tune the cruise control will change to:

Lower possible set speed (15mph instead of 25mph, can resume from 5mph)

This, I tried my 17 1500 Sport through my neighborhood and it wouldn't work below 25

Green Diesel engineering?
Not easy with a hemi

It doesn’t work below 30km included but it works 31 so if your truck has digital speed readout you should be able to use it that way.

I tried, but lowest speed was around 40km/h (25mph), not 31km/h

Hmm it works for me on my 2500 it works on my wife’s 1500 and it did worked on Pontiac Sunfire, Jeep Compass, Wrangler and Ford Explorer we use to own.

Hmmmm, that means it should be to adjust, to set up, to programming or whatever.

I hoped for a easy version like switch of the belt warning chirping.

My '17 Tradesman 6.4 Hemi CC will simply not set a speed if you are going less than 25 mph. Once you come up to 25, you push the switch and it sets.

Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!

I guess it depends for what market was vehicle programmed, it was explained to me that here in Canada school and playground zones are 30km/hour speed limit for safety and they dont want you to drive vehicle whos speed is controlled by cruise control because they want you to pay more attention what are you doing passing true this zones .

Except then you may need to pay more attention to the speedometer than to what is actually going on outside the car.

Right. I pass 3 school zones (25 mph) in my first 5 minutes every morning with 50 mph areas in between. I slow it down to 30ish, set it, then walk it down, push,push,push,push,push 25mph so now I'm just looking for kids.

What speed do you go with the gear selected to 1st as the highest gear? I don't know the answer but it can't be that high

I don't really know. Never went thru a school zone at redline. I'm in 3rd with it set to 25 mph. Remember, I'm slowing down from 50 - 60 mph. Dropping it into 1st would cause noises I don't want to hear.
