Bought some ICON dual stage rear coil springs for my 09 Ram 1500 4x4 with 6" lift. This will give me an additional 1.5" in the rear which is good since my truck sits a bit nose high.

How tough of a job is this? Will I need a spring compressor? Local tire shop said he would do it for $75-$125

No spring compressor. It’s pretty easy but you may need longer shocks. Undo the shocks and the sway bar then lift the frame up and swap the springs. My only concern is which rear lift did you go with for the 6” kit because it may be longer springs already and swapping to the icon springs may bring the rear down.

My RC lift has spacers in the back, so it has the original springs. Glad to know that the swap out is not too difficult. Since I got new shocks with the kit, I hope they have more than 1.5" of travel left in them, but you make a good point.

I sure appreciate your reply

Check the 4th gen DIY section, I thought there was a how too.

Honestly for $100 bill that's a fair price to let the shop do it, that upper shock bolt is a PITA, but it can be done in a driveway with the proper tools/jack/stands etc.
