Punctuation is your friend.

I understand what you're saying, but nobody attacked him so for him to go on a rant, it really was unwarranted. I wouldn't consider myself an old fart, but at 42 and having spent 22+ years on active duty, I'm no spring chicken either. ;-)

And where do you mean "down here"? I'm currently in Georgia and will be settling in TN this summer.

How many of you can turn a wrench or really work on their own truck and fix things without being screwed by a dealership speakup? Also how many of you mama or dad ain't paying for it speakup? How many of you own your truck speakup.
Ok.

I’m 28, I turn wrenches for a living working on industrial machinery varying from heavy equipment to PLC’s and automation equipment. Most of the time have to tear apart, troubleshoot, and repair stuff I’ve never seen before.

I paid my truck off years ago and “mommy and daddy” haven’t bought me ****, not the house I bought when I was 20, not the 40,000 dollar car when I was 19, not my truck, etc.

Sorry but posts like that make you sound like a typical grumpy old ******* complaining about “you damn young whippersnappers...” lol not saying you are, just saying that’s how it seems.

You said speak up, so I did lol.

Justin it is good you have done all these things but some of these people in these forums act like they know stuff and don't and rely on mama and dad . Some of todays youth want a free ride and not work for nothing they want it handed to them.Justin I'm a 65 year old man and when I was your age I already had two kids a house payment and know one gave **** also and to this day aint know one gave me **** .I have worked all my life and that's the truth and turned wrenchs too my dad had two garages for which I helped run.So what I'm saying to you young man my hats is off to you.

Haha I don’t think a single person on here relies on mommy and daddy. Even though a bunch don’t act like adults, I’m pretty sure all of us are adults that hold a job and buy their own stuff. Working on your own trucks takes a lot of time, space to do it, lots of tools, and some decent knowledge of what you are doing. Especially on the newer vehicles. These ain’t your grandads station wagon with a carb. I agree, this sounds like a “whipper snapper” post. I don’t even know why it went that way on this thread...

And yeah, I do all my own work. Check my signature below, it’s a lot...

I almost jumped on that comment myself...but...fast f sent me a bunch of pm's trying to help. Good intentions getting lost in translation.

Onto the original post. Truck has acted normal since this event. Still hoping it was ice on the tone ring or abs module. Been driving it pretty regularly. Who knows. Been running like a champ.

That’s the worst kind of problem, one you can’t replicate and wonder when it will happen again

Was just letting others know you were being helpful via pm. Not sure if the "?" On the end of your comment implies sarcasm or not. Lol...

I know it was already ruled out but I can’t believe that your problem wasn’t that pinion nut. As soon as I read your post the first thing I thought about was that. I can’t imagine that the abs module would randomly lock up a wheel and even if a wheel did lock I wouldn’t think it would make you spin around like that. But I guess anything is possible.

That recall was 4th gen to my memory.

That recall was 4th gen to my memory.

Early 4ths had the same rear end as 3rd gen though. They didn’t recall the 3rds but the same thing can happen especially if the vehicle has had a pinion seal done and they didn’t use loctite. When I had mine redown I used really strong loctite 277. The contraption they had put on there for the recall was interesting but didn’t seem to work on mine because it still came loose or maybe they just didn’t tighten enough in the first place.
