That's how much of the rim is behind the mounting face. A "0" offset on a 9" wide rim would have 4.5" on both sides of the mounting face. Since it's a +18 offset that moves the mounting face closer to the outer edge of the rim thus increasing the distance on the hub side.

So with having the +18 offset but not the 5.7 backspacing like in the link you sent me could I be in trouble?

If you are running a stock 20x9 with +18 or +19 (whatever stock is) you will have 5.7 (or so) inches of backspacing. Only way to have more or less is to increase wheel width or a different offset.

I have a 2016 Bighorn, Bilsteins set at 2.8 with 1" spacer in the rear. I'm running 285/65/20's on the stock clad wheels and I have 1.5" wheel spacers. The tires sit flush with my pocket flares and I am looking at new wheels, should I go with 20x9 -12 or 20x10 -24? I want to take off the spacers but want my tires to remain flush or pretty close, just not super tucked.

Conclusion

I will stress again that this thread is by no means the end all, be all guide to leveling and wheel and tire sizing. It is simply a thread full of all the information to answer the questions that I see pop up on the forum so often. If you have any suggestions or see any information that should be changed please send me a PM and I will look into it. We will be updating this original post as needed.

For those of you who are new to all of this and are reading through this thread to figure out your set up for your truck please read everything as carefully as possible before posting questions. While I do want this to be an informative post/thread and will encourage good questions to be asked, I also do not want it filled up with questions that have already been answered.
Hi Brandon. So I have 295/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grappler on my 2015 Ram 1500 bilstein leveled. What tire pressure should i run? Obviously not manufacturers. And do I have to do something with the original tire pressure sensors ?

generally 2.1 leaves some rake. My truck basically still has 1" of rake and i'm at 2.1

I run whatever tire pressure is needed to get an even contact patch. You don’t need to do anything with the sensors

I have a 2014 4x4 Ram 1500 that I want to install Bilsteins to level. I went to a 4 wheel parts store to ask about a buying a wheel/tire/bilstein package. They stated that I will need to get new control arms. I was under the impression that I could use my factory ones. Any insight?

Many on here have leveled using the factory control arms with zero issues over thousands of miles. But many on here upgrade the control arm (myself included) when leveling just for the extra peace of mind. While it's not highly documented, having a ball joint pop out of it's socket while driving down the road with my family doesn't sound like a good time. Bottom end upgraded control arms that guys use are Mevotech (factory geometry but stronger than stock) for about $100. The other very popular choice is the Zone (different geometry to account for lift) for about $400.

But like I stated, many upon many have ran factory control arms with nary an issue.

4 wheel parts will not do mine without the control arms........It is being done on Saturday. 2" front level, control arms and new 295/60/20's on my stock wheels.

I traded my 2010 Ram Laramie for this '18 Ram Limited Tungsten. My '10 had a 3" level kit on the rear and an inch and half in the front. That was for my 295/55/20 Toyo Open Country Extreme, 20x10 Ansa wheels with a negative offset, not sure of the number though. On my new truck, it has the airbag suspension, I feel like I am getting some rub on the front end, but have not seen any evidence. My question is, would a hub spacer be the fix on this or does anyone know if you can in fact add a level kit to a truck with airbag suspension?

I posted this info elsewhere but I doubt anyone has seen it. I have a level front and stock 20’s on a 2010 with 1” spacers. I went with 35x12.5x20 firestone mt/2’s. Rides awesome a small amount of rubbing at full lock but it is purely on my plastic inner fender. Look is a little stuffed but I work out of the truck so reaching over the side is kinda important.

Amazingly smooth and quiet tire. About as loud as my terra grappler g2’s on my jeep. Just got em so I’m sure they will get a little louder but very impressed.

Tires are still awesome. Wearing pretty good from what I can tell. I only have about 6000 on them. They don’t disappoint. Had them in pretty much everything and they have no issues.

Typically how long does it take to install bilsteins and how easy? Should I do it myself or pay someone?

it doesn't take long...if you don't have a spring compressor, they're fairly cheap or you can pay a shop to compress the springs and install the Bils, then you can install them in the truck. Probably take a few hours with a trip to a shop. Real simple install

what he said. The longest amt of time I spent was getting the center nut off the old, and then compressing the new setup to get that top center nut back on.
