Cabin Filter - Worth It? Why?

Can someone post a link to the kit ? I don’t have a filter I. My 2015 and would like to do the mod.

I didn't notice any reduction at all. The filter isn't that restrictive.

I live in a VERY dusty environment. When my filter starts to get plugged up, (about every 4 or 5 months), I get a little whistle (barely perceptible) as the system starts to pull air from around the filter rather than through it.

I say yes , but I do a decent amount of dirt & gravel road driving especially during deer season . I went over a year prior to installing the kit from allmoparparts.com , I've definitely noticed a difference in the dust in the cab ..

Here are a few You Tube Videos showing it ! You need a SHARP Razor knife ! Work slow. The cable that slow the opening on the glove box tie off so it is easier to retrive

For sure work slow, if you drop a bit of plastic into the blower motor its gonna rattle around. My advice would be to heat a exacto knife up pretty good before you start cutting. Made it alot easier.

Good idea . I heated the plastic up just a bit with a heatgun and it cuts very easy .

I do caution to heat it just a little with a heatgun !
I'd say a few minutes with a regular hair dryer on high would suffice.

Had the dealership do it, they only charged like 60 bucks basically. So it was "professionally installed".

Didn't notice a decrease at all he might be talking from a perspective view and not "I have actually done it view" It makes sense because it is passing through something but again I didnt noticed any difference other than clean air lol.

Ok, changed my cabin air filter this morning. Yes my 17 express is factory equipped with one. I tried cross referencing the Mopar part number and it crossed to a wix filter. Crossed the Fram number and the Purolator number c25858 came up. Exact replacement. I couldn't believe how dirty the old one was. It's been in there less than a year. I change my cabin air filters every year, bought one for the wife's grand caravan also, it's coming up on a year for that one.

You can also find them on Amazon and eBay - just search for 2015 ram 1500 cabin air kit (or other vehicle)

For those that are worried about decreased air flow, my filter was pretty dirty and still working fine, deffinately tell the difference with new filter though, a/c will freeze you out.

My 2017 ram 1500 Laramie has the cabin air filter.

I know the mod is there for Gen 3 Rams, but I never heard of people doing it on the Gen 2's.

pull your glove box off, and see if you see a flat rectangle right before the blower. It will look perfectly like it should have been cut from the factory...
