I have to head out for work and my truck won't come out of park. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal and I'd rake care of it later, but it's parked in front of the garage blocking my other truck. I'm working on trying to figure this out and will check the forum between curse words. Any ideas on what it may be or how to put it in neutral and move it for now appreciated. 2017 Ram 1500 limited with keyless go.

If you have an 8 speed, pop off the lower left panel and pull the neutral release to put the truck into neutral.

There's a paragraph or 2 in the manual about how to put the truck in neutral for a tow. There's a release cable under the dash near the parking brake.
Also, if it's 4WD, you can put the transfer case in neutral.

Just found it with Google:
MANUAL PARK RELEASE — 8 SPEED
TRANSMISSION

In order to push or tow the vehicle in cases where the
transmission will not shift out of PARK (such as a dead
battery), a Manual Park Release is available.
Follow these steps to activate the Manual Park Release:
1. Firmly apply the parking brake.
2. Using a small screwdriver or similar tool, remove the
Manual Park Release access cover, which is just above
the parking brake release handle, below and to the left
of the steering column.
3. Using the screwdriver or similar tool, push the
Manual Park Release lever locking tab (just below the
middle of the lever) to the right.
4. While holding the locking tab in the disengaged
position, pull the tether strap to rotate the lever
rearward, until it locks in place pointing towards the
driver’s seat. Release the locking tab and verify that
the Manual Park Release lever is locked in the released
position.
5. The vehicle is now out of PARK and can be towed.
Release the parking brake only when the vehicle is
securely connected to a tow vehicle.

Wow, on a 2017. Maybe something electrical went haywire. I would at least try a battery disconnect to see if that can get you by to move it out of the way. I honestly have no idea, but it's something I would try myself out of desperation.

Put a floor jack under the rearend and jack it up enough so the tires are off the ground and push it.

Got lucky. Wiggled the wires around the brake pedal and I was able to get it out of park and drive it. It must be a connector not properly pinned or a bad ground connection. I'll drive it to the dealer if I can get it out of park again when I have time to take it in. If not I parked it in a spot that's out of the way and easy to tow it. Figure if it's wiring on the brake switch then worst case once I have it in drive I won't have brake lights. Dealer is pretty close so I'd rather drive it then tow it. Thanks. I'll def look for the neutral switch when I get a chance for future reference.

I know you have to press the brake to get it out of park so it's certainly possible. First time I've had an issue like this. On a new transmission it's possible one of the harnesses aren't plugged back in or was damaged during the swap so it's not getting the signal to release the shifter.

The manual park release is for the 8spd transmission (dial shifter). If your 2009 is 4X4, shifting the transfer case into neutral will allow you to move the vehicle.
