Personally I like the Whipple kit for its insta-torque, but at least we have FI options available now!

https://www.procharger.com/blog/2500-ram-truck-owners-procharger-boost-has-arrived

Best thing (besides being available now) is it appears to be a very simple install considering. Should also be a bit easier on the trans than a PD blow. What would scare me a bit is how well they have the tune worked out.

Who's gonna be first???

ill be spending the same amount on the suspension....i really hope i never feel like the 6.4 is not enough...ok i feel like the 6.4 needs some boost.

this is epic
2018s go from not being able to procal the tire size and TPMS to being able to remote tune a procharger addition. Can i get my speedo corrected first?

Sent Procharger an email asking for installation instructions and info on the tuning hardware out of curiosity. Looking at it a little more closely, it's really over 7k with the way I'd configure one. The 6k tuner kit does not include fuel (injectors?) or a tuner. Depending on what their using to tune it that might not be an issue for those who already have a programmer. If you don't have an unlocked PCM then it's even more expensive since they get a pretty good buck for one. At 7-8k I'd be thinking pretty seriously about a Whipple since they typically have pretty well developed kits. But in fairness it's still not available and their release date has moved every time I inquire about the status.

Damn straight. For that kind of money, I would sell my Hemi, buy a Cummins, and tune it. I loved my mildly tuned Cummins.

No doubt, but a stock Cummins won't make anywhere near 500+whp either, it makes about 330 to the wheels. Obviously it makes a lot more torque but with the blower the power curves start to even out considerably. With a good tune you should should be dropping about 2 seconds 0-60 and 1/4 mile which would make the truck a thoroughly entertaining all purpose vehicle. Plus you get all the evil blower whine. Plus you don't have to deal with the diesel emissions bs they have in place today. If that's not enough then with good pistons and rods the motor will hold just about whatever you can throw at it, since it's essentially a Hellcat block and heads.

Does all this make sense on a gas 2500? No, probably not. But if I wanted to make logical purchases I probably would have bought a 1500 in the first place:)

I agree but my tranny would be gone as well lmao. So more money.

The 66RFE (gas) and 68 RFE (diesel) are pretty closely related, converter aside. So bit of a mystery as to exactly how much hp/abuse the 66RFE will take.

According to Procharger you can actually buy a warranty here:
Optional 5 year / 100K mile powertrain warranty eligible (HO System)
I have absolutely no idea if it's really worth anything.

Also according to Procharger:
Being able to "bolt on" this kind of power in an afternoon in the garage was almost unheard of years ago; however, thanks to our awesome engineering staff it has become a common reality. Everything you need to transform your truck from stock to supercharged comes in a single box delivered to your door. For those DIY type owners, this entire system can be installed with common hand tools in the garage. And the best part, since no cutting/bending/grinding is required for this install, it can be returned to 100% stock just as easy.

So, if your tranny goes just uninstall the kit and tell FCA you were driving along peacefully when the 2c clutch spontaneously combusted :D

Or.... since Ram has confirmed a Hellcat based TRX truck will become a reality in the next couple of years that might be a better option. Now just need to come up with a way to make the 100k sticker price sound like a logical purchase to my wife.

Ya good luck with that lol. I only have 4 more years of payments and the truck will be paid off with approx. 40000 miles on it. But my wife said I can get the challenger hellcat wide body if it's still available. So most likely will do that. Gonna get the PCM from moes and put a tune on the 2500 and call it a day.

Not only is it still going to be available, but in 2020 they are going to add a 426 NA Hemi option to the SRT's as well. No idea how much horsepower it's going to make but should slot nicely between the 392 and Hellcat. Some of the Demon-tech is going to trickle down to the Hellcat was well (like the Power Chiller). So good bet the Hellcat will be making 750+ hp in the next year or two.

Start saving your pennies now:)

If I sell my truck before you sell yours I will make you a really good deal on the mods.
