Has anyone bought the Mopar Cold Air Intake along with the Sport Hood Ram Air Kit? The Ram Air kit requires the Mopar CAI kit, but is this combination worth the $600+

Just wondering if anyone has this, and /or other opinions. My inclination is that the factory air intake is fine, but if you have other opinions or evidence, please share it.

Made a difference on the highway especially above 55. Didn't notice much sound though. It is carb certified and 50 state legal which is why it carries a high price tag. It also fits like factory without modification.

Always wondered about this as well. I suppose going with this factory kit avoids any warranty concerns as well?

Can you expand on what kind of difference it made? MPG, acceleration, towing, etc? Did you do any exhaust mod to help it breath? It looks great on your truck!

Acceleration at freeway speed between 55-85mph. Mpg was slightly better. .5 mpg
I didn't have a before and after with towing so I can't really comment there.
Longtubes are on now which really woke up the truck.

Overall I'm pleased with the mods and would do them again if I had to do it over.

Not sure you'll get anything out of it with a stock tune. Does it make both the scoops work and route to the one side?

I want the sport hood alone just for the hooks, but this may tempt me to buy now.

only one scoop works (passenger side), the piece behind the small honeycomb grill comes off, and you have the option of removeable plate on top of the CAI, 3 10mm bolts easy on and off. dealer advised me to run with the plate on when its going to rain or is raining

They make “Air filter bags” that are water resistant, they just wick water away, Afe, s&b,K&N.. I used to run them on my quads, ran a similar product on my Snowmobile, they work really well, just got to find them.

The product that is mentioned is to protect open element filters.

The sport hood going to the cai box then to the filter will barely leave a mist if any.

Now use logic when you're driving. Because I've never had a problem doesn't mean you can go driving through a hurricane :D
