Personally I'd rather have the V10 truck vs. the 4.7L engine.

Of course, it all depends on the general condition of both trucks.

What do you plan on using them for?

V10 will outdo the 4.7 in any category but daily driver/economy

Mainly just for truck stuff..hauling and pulling but nothing major..how is the power of a v10? I know its nowhere near diesel performance but i figured it should still be pretty powerful

Stock for stock v10 often outperforms diesel at sea level. Altitude or inclines it's another story

4.7 is a sad motor. I about guarantee Them all to go bad (imho) plus finding a good one at a decent price is getting impossible. Just ran into this problem on a 2005 I bought to flip. Bought truck cheap and couldn't find a cheap motor anywhere ended up finding one in Cleveland for $750

If you don't mind getting 6mpg the v10 is a powerhouse. The 4.7 will get you better mpgs and be fine for landscaping trailer or towing under 5k lbs. I'd get a reman engine because the yard motors are probably as bad as yours.
