I was able to regain about 2mpg after doing the spark plugs and adding a Spectre CAI to my truck. It is a 2015 with 5.7 Hemi and plugs are recommended to be changed every 30k miles.

Prior to plugs: 11.9mpg avg

2.5 hours and 16 burnt plugs later I was done. I can see why the dealership charges so much to do the spark plugs.

After plugs and CAI: 13.9~14.1mpg avg

The CAI for the price and design is not a bad investment. The woot on acceleration is great and I can tell a response difference. Plus def opens up the mufflers (flow master 40) more

**granted the MPG is skewed due to oversize tires and an unadjusted speedometer**

No doubt the spark plugs helped. Not sure the new air filter did much, unless the one you had was beyond dirty.

Im pretty sure all it did was remove the restrictive OEM tubing. And added a nice growl on acceleration. Next is fuel systme

I like the sound and the install was straight forward, good fitment. I modified the stock rubber hose that comes from the intake to the motor. I will get a pic this afternoon.

My 2014 owners manual says to replace them at 100k. 30k seems very early to replace them.

My 14 Ram 5.7L says 100k , but I'll likely do them this summer at about 60k...

Interesting design.

Does the CAI use the bottom portion of the stock air box?

Where does the AIT sensor mount?

What exactly is going on with the open end there?

I’m on the fence on either a new CAI or drop in filter.

I’m on the fence on either a new CAI or drop in filter.

It uses the bottom half of the factory intake so it still utilizes the factory lower air induction. The open box is flush with the bottom of the hood. I had a K&N drop in before I installed this. I feel this does increase the flow and acceleration.

The AIT is located near factory location before the first bend. The kit came with a grommet for fitment and install

I see the grommet now. It was camouflaged against the dirty bay at first glance.

How well does the box seal to the hood?

And how much? Model and serial number?
