Pulled the trigger on the 14" magnaflow

Ordered the 14" magnaflow after listening to plenty of videos. I heard a flowmaster exhaust on a ram, it sounded good, but was too quiet. Guy didnt know what muffler model he had. All of the carvens i have listened to sound like cheap glass packs. Not a fan of the raspyness. Got a cat back kit with a 14" magnaflow, no resonators, and black powdercoated stainless tips for $300 shipped. Messaged the seller to see if he can add 5" black tips.

The Carven is not raspy at all zero rasp ,no crack ,no popping !
If you are making the call off all those videos they do not do them any justice at all.
I like the Magnaflow they sound good but wanted something alitte louder myself witj a lower tone.

Congrats on the new exhaust.
It's such a personal preference, if you like it, and wifey or girl friend likes it, its the right one for you.

It's good you took your time and convinced yourself so no buyer's remorse.

I have the same exhaust and like it a lot. Loud when you give her the peddle but otherwise very mellow so it doesn’t get annoying while cruising.

I saw a guy that had loud exhaust and thought he had glasspacks. When i asked him what exhaust he had, and he said carven, i was shocked. It was very raspy and sounded just like glasspacks in person. Not what i was looking for.

Interesing mine sounds nothing like a cheap glass pack and is not raspy.
Did he have a Progressive system ?

Even my r (competitor) muffler isn’t raspy. Maybe the person had true dual carven, then I could see it possibly being raspy but any small muffler true dual would be raspy. Magnaflow just doesn’t do anything for me, especially when you rev it and you hear the motor noise over the exhaust note..

Raspy? maybe it had an exhaust leak... my competitor has ZERO rasp at all. very throaty and deep.

The guy with the carven said he didnt know which carven model he had. Was on it when he bought it. He pulled out, and it sounded like ass. If he wouldnt have told me he had a carven, I would of sworn he had cheap glasspacks.
Im just thankful i got to hear magnaflow, flowmaster, and carven in person before i made my decision.

He probably didn't have a Carven... Carven is known for its *********** exhausts... Not raspy sounds

No i have listened to countless carven exhausts on youtube. There is even a post in this forum titled carven vs magnaflow. Carven sounds like ass. Exactly like cheap glasspacks. Must be a southern thing.

14" magnaflow is just as loud as the carven, except for the hillbilly glasspack sound. If i wanted glass packs, I would go to walmart and get a set.

Not hardly as loud.

hillbilly glasspack sound ? Its one thing to say you dont like it but to make it sound like everyone that has one is a hillbilly is just being a ass .

but I will have to say....I love my Carven! loud, deep and once again no rasp! I had Magnaflow on a previous car and I did enjoy it but I wanted something deeper and to me Carven won. I heard the 14" Magnaflow in person on a 5.7 Ram and it wasn't for me. It was not loud enough nor was it as deep enough. It also missed the bark that the Carven did. The bark of the Carven just gets me so excited I cant stand up! :help:

But we all have our own preferences! That is why I hate when people ask what exhaust they should get on a forum because everyone has their own opinion on what sounds good and it turns into this.

Never once said it’s better, just defending that it’s not raspy as he claims and that I’m really happy with the different sound it makes. That’s all [emoji106]
