So after weeks of working on a deal on a ram express I finally got my price for my trade and my final out the door price. The dealer found the truck I wanted 5.7 hemi, quad cab, express package 3.92 gears, tow package. Well he called tonight and said the other dealer said the vehicle wasn't available anymore. So his solution was a truck he had on the lot that has everything above, except the tow mirrors and brake controller. In addition the truck has led bed lights, limited slip diff, and locking wheel nuts. Also he said he would install the factor brake controller. He said it would cost me $80 more than the price we already agreed on, but the truck has $600 worth of options that the original truck didn't have. Do I really need tow mirrors? I have a 6 x 10 utility trailer that I tow.

Run, don't walk, to the dealer with your money. You've been patient and tow mirrors is a 15 minute install, brother. Do em yourself. Glad to see you got the LSD and 3.92s. Can't wait to see the pics.

If the new truck has powered mirrors instead of regular tow mirrors, take the powered mirrors. You won't need the tow mirrors and you'll find the powered mirrors more useful.

If neither is powered it's probably just a swap but I'd keep the regular mirrors IIwm.

No, you absolutely do not need tow mirrors for your size trailer. If you want them later go get them.

Sounds like you found a good dealer who is doing his best to make the deal work. I'd take it.

I agree...go for it. Get the mirrors while you can. Those tow mirrors are expensive, even aftermarket ones.

Have them give you a price to add the options you want, and if you are ok with it then do it.
The reality is you won’t need 1/2 those options 90% of the time, But having them the other 10% is what makes it so damn worth it.

To paraphrase the OP

The dealer is offering me a $100 bill but wants to charge me $5. Should I take it or not?

GO FOR IT DUDE!

Agree with everyone else, get it.
I think I have a coworker with the fold out OEM mirrors he's selling for cheap. You can add them later .

Get it, just the LSD makes it worth it.

My big horn had the standard power folding mirrors. I had the dealer swap them for tow mirrors. I lost the power folding option, but I can live without it. They also added the brake controller, skid plates and tow hooks.

Jump on it! Trailer brake control can be added later or pitch them on working it into the deal. You won’t need tow mirrors for the trailer sizes you’re talking, and will appreciate the power folding mirrors when going through drive-up windows or parking in what passes for a 2-car garage nowadays. You will love the 3.92s and LSD!

yup like everyone else jump on it. You can get the tow mirrors for extremely inexpensive aftermarket. Just have him hook you up on getting the ECU flashed if needed after install. And I have towed a 6x10 with no issues with no tow mirrors. I have the same 3.92 with LSD in my 2wd big horn. wouldn't change anything unless I get a smoking deal on a 4wd
