Is anyone having to do brakes on their 2500/3500 Rams? I'm at 66K and everything seems great. I just had my tires rotated and forgot to ask them to measure. I sold my old Dmax @ 140K miles and the fronts were just finally getting close - rear had about 50%. That was just crazy long life and am hoping for the same with this HD truck.

Well, 49 views and no replies.... I suppose that's good news. Does this mean nobody has done their brakes yet?

Let me pose the question another way: How many miles do you have on your OEM brakes?

I have only 15k on my 2500 and they look brand new after 1 season of towing. Probably doesn't help in determining longevity but I'll be happy if I get 66K miles as I have a tendency to brake hard.

50k on mine and fronts were shot. But that was due to the lower caliper pins being frozen and hanging up...

32k on mine and I just rotated the tires the other day and checked them. They are probably between 1/2 and 3/4 pad left. It's not a commuter but I do tow quite a bit when I do drive it.

I’m at 64K with about 20K rowing. Mine aren’t anywhere near ready for replacement.

I checked my brakes after the winter. Mines a ‘14, 2 yrs in a row with multiple frozen pins. Last spring under warranty I had all the boots & 2 calipers replaced because of torn boots. They were torn again when I put the 35”s on in October.

I’m guessing I’m not the only one with the torn boot issues.

Got 75k on mine and they have a lot of life on them, but I do use the exhaust brake a lot.

I’ve got 51k in mine and it’s my DD on 37’s. No squeaking and plenty of life left.

I had 110k on my '13 when I traded it, weren't even ready for replacement then. Only got 5k on my '17 so time will tell.

I just read yesterday on the Cummins Forum, "Time for Brakes", that two guys who use there trucks for delivering new trailers have well over 300,000 miles on OEM brake pads!

As much of a testament to good brakes as this is I think it's also an indication as to how well the exhaust brakes work. Towing for 300K miles sounds like a lot of highway driving and they probably rarely need the brakes.

This sounds like overall great news and what I was hoping for. It's funny that HD truck brakes last so long. Previous to my Ram and my 06 Dmax I had an F150 and that thing went through brakes every 25-30K miles if I'm remembering right.

140K and I had to replace my rear rotors and calipers. The front are still original equipment and going strong.

How many miles you get out of your brakes depends on many factors, like how much city and highway driving you do, which kind of determines how often you apply your brakes. If you tow a lot, etc. could affect wear too.

I have a 04 Ram 1500 short bed 5.7L 4WD with trailer tow package. I am the third owner and have only had it since October '17. It was never used to tow with. At present it has 99K miles on it and the 4 wheel disc brakes still work great. I doubt they have been replaced. There is no noise when they are applied. I would expect that other Rams would be able to run that long without replacement depending on how they are driven.

My daughters 07 2500 has 160k miles, fronts changed 2x rears 1x. 99% stop and go city driving. My 12 3500 has 105k but I got it used without a history so I don’t know if brakes have been done or not.

How about who's factory pads squeak like crazy?

About what's on mine too. Plenty of pad left just squeaky and very dirty

I have around 65,000 km, pads have lots of life, but I would say in the last year or so they started to squeak and the fronts are a lot more dusty now than they used to be.
