Debating between the corsa catback exhaust vs the magnaflow catback for my 13 8spd ram sport. I want a better tone and louder on open throttle but not obnoxiously loud and don't want drone with MDS on (why I didnt list carven or borla).

In canada the magnaflow before taxes is $800 where the corsa is $1800.

Id Imagine Corsa is the favorite but is it worth the extra $1000?

I went through this debate years and vehicles ago. I went with cost my first consideration then. I really wanted a Corsa but couldn't "justify it". so I went Maggies. the drone drove me nuts. so I tried everything to make it work. More dynamat, undercoating, bolted on weights to dampen, modified the exhaust with an H pipe and pulled the X pipe. in the end, I pulled it off and bought the Corsas. so final cost was Corsa + Magnaflow (minus the resale cost of the used Magnaflow). I have since had only Corsas on my vehicles.

An exhaust is really a luxury/toy. Serves no other major purpose other than amusement. why not start with what you want? I now plan that into the cost of any new vehicle. to me, being able to grin every time I goose the skinny pedal and not have a migrane at the end of a long trip, worth it.

Did you go with the magnaflow catback? (22") or just muffler swap

both corsa and mags in the past were cat backs. I had cat backs on my 1500 hemi. corsas sounded bad ass inside the cabin and outside. start up bark is worth the price of admission. remote start is your friend!

You do not have to go ($$$) cat-back. You can just replace the OEM muffler. The original piping is a good diameter for a near stock engine and it is quality stainless. Replacement mufflers are shorter than the stock "boat-anchor" so you'll need make-up piping.
Muffler shops vary in quality, some will use cheap aluminized steel and others will use proper stainless.
You can avoid that by buying a pre-made direct bolt-on with the correct stainless pipe and hangers. Mufflex makes one using Mangnaflow 14, 18 or 24" mufflers. ~$300 US. With the 24" I have excellent sound without annoying drone. I've heard more complaints about the 14".
Other manufacturers make bolt-on kits as well.

I have been through a few different exhaust over the years with all my Rams.

Corsa, hand down is worth the $$ for added noise vs. no-drone.....period.

I had mufflex 18" on this truck first.....sounded nice and deep......but it did drone/was loud in the cab in MDS and certain RPMs.

Now, if I am being 100% honest I liked the sound of the maggy (out the pipes, under load) a bit more on the truck.....it kinda fit the truck more). The corsa still sounds amazing, just a bit hollow for a truck to me (more deep bass would be perfect.....but then it would drone lol).

Corsa is the only brand that across the board can say they will not drone. Its one of my favorite brands for that reason, plus i love the unique sound they have.

Not a fan of Corsa myself on these trucks The sound just doesnt fit the truck IMO. I like the deep muscle car type sound that you get from Magnaflow and Borla over the "tips under water" gurgling type of sound that the Corsa has. Even my wife asked me to take the Corsa kit off after only an hour of driving on it.

If you want a deep tone with no drone, then I wold look at the Borla or ARH catback systems. I have run both of those on my Hemi Rams as well, and they do not drone at all. Even with longtube headers and no cats, they still did not drone in the cab.

I thought borla was notorious for drone when in MDS?

I have the Magnaflow catback, I love it. Not too loud, barks when you want it to, nice 5" tips.
But I also noticed ****** has come out with a catback for these trucks in their Blackheart line. Very curious about these as they sound great on all the applications they have now, newer Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, etc. This could be another option for you to look at, and as of now you won't hear or see your exhaust very often driving around , so nice and unique.
