It’s driving me nuts. It just started the past two days. It seems to be coming from the dash area. It’s a high pitched almost rattle, or sounds like plastic crumpling or creaking against each other. Tends to be loudest when I’m turning and hit a bump. I’ve felt around to see if speaker grills etc were loose, but I’ve not investigated a lot yet due to not having time.

Any thoughts on what it might be? It’s pretty loud and extremely annoying. 2017 Express 4wd CC.

Hi Mudder,

I see that you're seeking advice from the forum members but wanted to chime in on behalf of the Customer Care Team. If you decide to have this noise checked out by your Ram dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy forward your inquiry to a Case Specialist.

Mudder, my new Laramie was making a noise very similar. I found that mine was where the base of the console meets the dash. I could reproduce it by pushing in on the dash down by the seat heat buttons. The console base was rubbing against that vertical dash panel so I stuck thin rubber on each side to prevent plastic to plastic contact. Noise gone.

I appreciate the suggestion. I don’t think that’s what I’ve got going on here as I don’t have a console. But it does sound like plastic rubbing together.

It also seems to get worse the colder it is outside.

Curious to see what you find as I have what you described but coming from the driver door side/dash area. Drives me crazy going down the road so much I crank the radio to drown it out!

Well I believe it is the dash speaker grille on the passenger side. I’ve been busy and now have family visiting so I may not have a definite answer for a while. Got to mess with it the other day going down a gravel road with my wife driving and that seems to be the culprit.
