So much meat on those tires! Haha good idea with the tire swing. They're certainly big enough!

And not to get top off topic, but my other project I’m trying to paint before show season. The new drivers fender came in and my new hood is on the way. Ordering the passenger fender tommorow.

The dodge is getting put to the side for now while I focus on painting the other truck and installing parts. I already have 4 shows in mind to tow it to with the dodge. [emoji846]

Truck is coming along nicely man, please do give more details and pictures on this S10 im a sucker for old square mini trucks, i have a Dodge D50 im starting on soon

1991 regular cab/standard bed
Stock 4.3 V6 with the stock 5 speed manual
Fully bagged
Stock control arms with 2” drop spindles
4 linked rear
Bag over axle setup
2500lb bags
1/2” airline up front
3/8” airline in rear
1/2” valves (I think)
6 switches. Front,rear, each wheel.
Viair compressor
5 gallon or so aluminum tank

Lays frame in the rear, front doesn’t because of transmission ***** cylinder on the housing sticking down. If I fix that my have to do a mini firewall tub plus dehump the lower arms and possibly run tubular uppers or modify stocks.

I’m converting most back to stock except suspension then doing subtle mods. I want that clean look and make it look like a stock old s10 when lifted for that shock effect. Too many trucks are overdone.

I have a brand new hood and brand new fenders that are awaiting trimming for tire clearance on the backside, and paint. I’m stripping the wiper cowl and reusing. Fixing some dents and low spots on the cab and trying to sand all the filler smooth so I can hit it with some aerosol auto primer then pull it out and mask everything and start laying down color with my gun.

It’s getting all new bolts for the body panels. Not reusing stock, rusty stuff. It’s old so I’ll be pulling stuff like the 4 link eventually and repainting it.

I hope to trailer it to atleast 4 nearby shows with no bed for now. The bed needs tons of sanding and body work to fix surface rust and paint low spots

Also just for the record, I’ve owned this truck since stock. I’ve had it roughly 11 years. It’s not a project I bought from anyone, I’m just changing stuff I used to think was a good idea when I was a teenager

Finally got my new front tires mounted and balanced, and swapped the fronts to the rear. My old tires were so ****** plus the right one had a crack in the sidewall from dry rot that leaked a good bit over a weekend.

The bad tire is getting made into a tire swing when I get a home and the other one will be used on my spare wheel. And yes, I’m missing some lugnuts. I’ve got to buy more. The truck had security ones and the tool broke so I had to get them chiseled off.

I was worried they may rub but they weren’t that much taller than my old fronts. I’d say the others were at about 50% that were there. They’re on the back now. Aside from the others being old and faded, it looks much better. I may try to shine the sidewalls up on the rear ones so they don’t stand out so much. I’m working on the steering brace for the gearbox. They put the plate about 1/8” too far towards the passenger side. I removed the welds before my appointment today (Had to take off a day from work for eye doctor..) and moved the plate over 1/8” and put 4-6 tack welds (I [emoji173]️ my new machine) so I can test fit and make sure it now lines up 100% then fully Weld, touch up paint, then bolt up. Aside from spark plugs, that’s all for the dodge right now really. Really occupied on the s10 and I work alone so I’m super busy.

Soon. I’ve got plenty more planned for it, just trying to get my bagged truck finally ready after 10 years for its first local show. Not a lot of time each week.

I’m a truck driver so it doesn’t help. I am home Friday evenings until Sunday morning/sometimes Sunday afternoon so I usually start on the truck as soon as my stuff gets put in the house. Dinner comes whenever I finally can’t hold out any longer, and a lot of time I work with one hand and eat with the other [emoji23] I don’t know many people who are knowledgeable enough to help plus I’m very picky on stuff and can only trust myself.

Most got put in the truck because it started to rain as soon as I got nearby. I had to stop and get two tarps down the street. Finally put it to some work though. It pulled fine, but I dropped 2/10mpg on my overhead just from one side of town to the other.. that never happens I don’t think [emoji50]

On a side note, I’d rather back a 48 foot flatbed any day of the week instead of this tiny little trailer. Such a pain in the ass and twitchy to back up in the tight areas I had to back.

Felt like a lifetime to do those 16 plugs.. I had to bend my arms in ways that I didn’t realize they bent

Truck didn’t really run bad before, but still.. it idles sooooo smooth [emoji106]
Now to see if my gas mileage gets a little better.

Drove to Florida and back yesterday. I had bought a drivers door for the truck locally but turned out the megacab used a different shape than a regular cab.. months later, I finally found a door. It turns out the crew cabs use the same front door.

Drove to crestview and along the way, I met a guy and sold the incorrect door then resumed my drive and loaded up the correct door and brought it home.

After a ******* stop (Which I was tempted to also load the waitress in the truck and bring her home too ) me and my dad got back at 1:30AM... pretty sure I was driving mostly on instinct for the last 40 miles. I almost pulled over and slept in the back but couldn’t since I wasn’t by myself for the trip.

It’s got one rust spot about as big as a dime but that’s an easy fix. I’m going to order color code matched paint and paint the whole thing before it even gets installed. I’ll also have to swap my tow mirror and power windows/locks over but atleast I won’t have a smashed up door anymore.

Super happy [emoji106]

Met a friend at the junkyard and found me a lugnut cover that I have been missing since i got the truck. They sell for $40 from what I found, but scored it for a mere $2.19 [emoji106]

Came out and found this next to me. Kinda cool for a tiny little baby truck [emoji1]

Gotta order paint for the new door before I head out of town for work this week and hopefully I’ll be able to paint and bolt it on next weekend.

I ordered paint shortly after midnight and it should be here when I get back from work on Friday. I paid more but I went with one of those fancy aerosol 2k kind. It’s regular auto paint and hardener but you break this seal inside and it’s the same as mixing paint and using a gun. The spray tip is also made to give the same spray pattern.

It’s more expensive but I don’t have to mix anything or clean the gun after. Also there’s really no setup to be done. Just spray and throw away. I may have enough to do my new fender that I put on a while back

Went to look at a house (Turned out to be a death trap) and ended up in a good photo op so I couldn’t resist. Ended up leaving a couple deep trenches in the guys driveway.. I came in slow and next thing I knew the truck slid sideways for a moment and after parking I noticed the deep trenches where I slid. It had been raining and I hit soft clay.. oops

My paint for the new door is supposed to arrive today. When I get home I may paint the edges and backside then bolt it on and do the rest on the truck. I’m also making plans to build me a headache rack for it because I don’t like the pre made ones. They either aren’t what I want, or cost a hell of a lot more than the steel needed for me to make it. My uncle has a miter saw that I can put a metal cutting blade on and use it to get all the joints just right then all that’s left is welding, some paint, and tapping threads into the metal so I can use factory holes in the stake pockets to avoid any drilling on the truck.

I’ve been on vacation all week but done everything else besides work on the dodge.
I finally started sanding the new door and aside from the edges/backside and a couple small spots, it’s ready to be wiped down/taped off, and painted. I may sand the rest tonight when I get home from hanging out with a friend then tape it tommorow morning and lay down a coat of paint and let it bake in the sun and maybe get a second coat on and have time to atleast bolt it on before going back to work then next weekend I can swap my mirror and stuff over to the new door.

I’ve been procrastinating like hell on the door.. but I finally replaced my sway bar end links. The drop brackets I had were offsetting the sway bar either too far forward or too far back so my stock links bent to ****. I knew this but put it off for a bit.

These need some sort of lube and some
Loctite, but drove this morning and they work, I just hear and feel a little light pop when turning. I may have tightened them a bit too much. It’s raining hard though so it’ll be a bit before I end up checking.

$60-$70. They accommodate 0-6” of lift according to the listing. Not bad for heim joints.

This is a great build. I'm waiting for that new rear bumper and bedliner on the sides!
