Picked up a puller from O'Reilly's and have begun. I pulled out my fan for clearance and also picked up a 3.7 fan to maybe do the efan conversion. I have a 2015 and know I shouldn't need to swap, but I've been plagued with cooling problems, which I think may be fixed from my recent coolant flush. It's only 60's so hard to tell. My temps will get to 199 but then drop pretty quick to low 90's/ high 80's once my fan kicks in. Either way, thought I'd pickup the 3.7 fan for $85. I thought I'd post a pic of the 3.7 vs 2013+ fan for reference. My stock fan (left) is almost 20 inches in diameter while the 3.7 fan is almost 22 inches in diameter and has slightly larger blades.IMG_20180421_100908.jpg

I'm envious man.....I have mine sitting in the box at the moment. Still waiting for my Edge torque converter to arrive.

Can't wait to see what you think about it.

Little bit of an update... I was able to easily remove the crank bolt using a long screwdriver wedged in a hole of the pulley against the block to prevent the pulley from spinning and a 1/2 ratchet with some muscle. The removal of the pulley itself was a bit tricky with the puller kit I had, but was able to get it based on the link to the YouTube video below. Removing the fan was a must since I had to sit inbetween the engine and radiator to finesse washers and nuts on the back of the pulley bolts. I had to scrounge through my parts bucket for awhile but luckily had the nuts and washers needed. I think I'm in a holding pattern now until the gals get home and I can run back up to O'Reilly's and get the install kit. Didn't realize it was separate.

I am running two JL10W6v3's, so we will see. I've seen comments from other members with aftermarket systems say they had no issue. I figure worst case, put a capacitor in.
Nice. Make sure to give an update if you notice any lights dimming when the subs hit after you install the pulley.

I was able to get a few threads of the oem bolt on, so I just used that. Having trouble now torquing down to 130 ft lbs because the crank is turning at about 70 lbs. Any thoughts on how to lock the crank?

Old school trick is to pull a spark plug out and feed some nylon rope into the hole, the rope will jam between the piston and head and keep the crank from turning

It works good, lol. Pull both plugs on the cylinder you feed the rope into,so you don't risk closing up the plug gap on one plug. 1/4" nylon rope is what I use.

ATI install is done. I must say, I genuinely enjoyed the install. It was my first time installing a pulley. I took my sweet ass time, no cursing or frustration, unlike my nightmare header install. Being lifted helped tremendously by putting the crank bolt right at my nose when I was sitting up on my creeper inbetween the radiator and engine. Also gave me clearance on the creeper to slide under my front axel to give me proper orientation when laying down. It also helped that I had the right tools such as torque wrench and a fat wrench w/ t40 bit to torque the dampner bolts down correctly. I did over torque one of the pulley bolts and stripped it trying to back it out because I decided to try out my non-digital torque wrench to see how it did and that was a mistake lol. Hope that doesn't cause any issues being a bit torqued more than the other two.

Just need to button up with figuring out what I wanna do with the fan and throw the vararam back on and my next post should be a performance review!IMG_20180421_155808.jpg IMG_20180421_162102.jpg

First impressions... The engine was definitely quiter, which has been observed by others. I didn't really 'feel' any performance gains, nor was I really expecting to. I did notice that acceleration feels much smoother. There used to be a tiny vibration that I felt in the accelerator that I always attributed to the exhaust, but it's now gone. Very subtle and could only tell with flip flops or bare foot. Or maybe in crazy, who knows.

I was sitting at a light and cranked the subs all the way up. I noticed no dimming of the lights and run 55w HID's and have led fogs. After 20 seconds, the evic flashed "battery saver mode" .... That's certainly new lol. I did not notice any difference but was about a minute from home. All in all, I'm happy. I didn't expect much and know it helps. Install was smooth for me at least and I was willing to shell out the coin for the mod. Didn't get a chance to check a 0-60 with the tuner. Still haven't gotten to at all since I've put my LT headers on as well. I'll keep you all posted if any further opinions develop.

Also, I ended up throwing in the 3.7 fan since it helps open up the engine bay and is slightly larger. It cooled the same, but I'm expecting it to shine better in high ambient temps. Only time will tell.

Awesome man good deal. Hope to get mine on in the next week or so. I'm just running the stock Alpine system so I should be fine. No crazy lights but I am installing a 35w HID kit tomm.

Yeah, the efan frees up soooooo much room up there. It looks a lot better and you can sit up between the radiator and block...lol

I really want to do this but with an Efan, HIDs, a winch, a sub, and 3 different sets of cube lights, I don’t think I can.

Good job, @Jwithing !
