Is voice recognition drunk, or am I?

Seriously. I'm trying to get my NAV to take me to Goderich, Ontario. Say it out loud. Goderich. But no. It decides I'm going to Toronto.

So, maybe it's me. I ask my fiancée to try it in case the truck can't understand me. She says Goderich. Nope. Now we're going to Sudbury.

What the ****?

Does anyone else have issues with the voice recognition? Any tips?

My 17 is pretty damn good with it. The only problem I had was last week but I was saying Jervis and it kept picking Gervis. I can't really blame it for that one tho

You have to talk to it like someone just learning english. Slowly and no big words. I find it hit and miss as well.

Try using the postal code? I do know that in the States this works more reliably for weirdly-named cities.

Most voice control still sucks depending on what you want it to do. The other day I was yelling at Carplay in my challenger to give me a route to Seguin, TX to bypass some road work and it kept trying to take me to Austin. Just to compare I plugged in an Android Phone I had laying around when I got to the house and Google tried to take me to another state... The factory uConnect stuff wasn't much better.

My truck came with everything but an instruction cheat sheet on voice commands. 3/4 of the time I know it should be able to understand me but I would guess I'm not saying things the very specific way I'm supposed to. Ends up just making me angry once she starts yappin with her help instructions and I just skip it. The only thing I count on it for is changing audio from bluetooth to FM radio etc and changing the cabin temp.

Meanwhile... back at the ranch... I can dang near have full conversations with Alexa about my day at work but the truck can't manage to understand "Navigate to Possum Grape Arkansas".

Mine sucks too. I speak clearly and slowly and it never brings up the right person I am trying to call. I don't even bother trying to call anyone from my truck unless I am stopped and can just dial the number on my phone, then the truck will pick up the call fine.
