Hey guys

First time truck owner, and first time dodge owner here. Purchased my truck last friday, and I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went out and had some subs and an amp installed yesterday, typically I do it myself but since I spent a small fortune (for me) on the truck I figured I would want it done "professionally".

I have a kenwood xr601 amp pushing two 10" JL Audio w0v3 subs under the rear seat.. and quite frankly I am displeased with the lows...

I think it's just the box so I was wondering if anyone has experience with a different box that can actually hit any frequency below 40hz lol

my fox box in my 03 hits below 40, actually does quite well on lows, the problem is the typical underseat box for the quad cabs doesnt really give you enough air space for low lows, my center console setup drops amazing lows...

in my 08 i have a bed liner box but like you said it doesnt drop LOW notes

Like mentioned above, there isn't a bunch of room under the rear seat but enough for certain 10's, and a select few 12's to live comfortably back there.
Kinda like any install, make sure the enclosure volume is enough for the subwoofer(s) being ran. I don't know the requirements for those JL subs, or the box being ran with them but those two need to live in harmony to dig deep and sound good doing it. My old install had a fox box with two 12" Arc Blacks and that combo dug really deep and sounded pretty darn good.

if you are running them at 4 ohms you are under powering the subs

that amp will only do 600 in 2 ohms

400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

Don't take for granite that a professional install all that

Not saying you did not go to a reputable shop, saying there are many that are not

That JL should hit like a club and quite frankly be way over powering your factory radio

I'll check with them. Or see if I can find a meter and check what they're wired to.

They hit fine it's just the lows are essentially non existent.

Does the line out converter make a difference as to what functionality it provides?

If you upgraded the factory sub and they did a line out converter off the factory sub wiring you won't get the low lows because they're cut out from the factory radio to avoid damaging the factory subs.

That's actually probably what the issue is. I'll get with them today.

Does it have a center channel or ceiling mounted speakers?

Just some prefab

There are great (Net Audio) and crappy prefab boxes. I’m running a Net Audio box with a single JL 12W6V3 and it will get down low and loud if I ask it to.

I bought a custom fiberglass box and jl w3v3 but so far it doesn't sound as good as I thought it would. Hopefully I just have some more tuning to do on the amp and it's not the boxSnapchat-1787378541.jpg

I was thinking about bringing this back and buying the JL stealth with two thinline 10s... It's just pricey

Have you checked to see if there is a subsonic filter anywhere in the signal chain?

I'm sure there is one on the amp. I'll check when I get back into town later today.

Not sure what they used ? Agree with Tom The Amppro is beastly and will give you a full preamp out section & a bass knob

On the cheap you could use a LC2i LOC that will give you an Accu bass feature that is designed to defeat the factory roll off
