87 w150 single cab. i bought it from my uncle and it doesnt have the fabric from the headliner but the old foam is still up there, should i just go ahead and take that down or leave it up there, when i get it replaced will the foam be replaced too, if i take it down will it make things louder in the cab.
thanks in advance for any advice/ help

yes it will make it louder,, example... i also had installation in my vehicle.. i removed it because it look crappy... wished i had not... now the vehicle does look better, but i now hear every vibrating noise the vehicle has... will replace it very soon...it looks good but rides like an empty wagon.

If you take it down it should have a ridgid backing under the foam. If so strip and wire brush the foam off and then get and glue on new headliner material. You can get the material foam backed. Then put the liner back up looking brand new.
