Vinyl wrapped center console bezel

After reading countless threads and replies on how to change out the chrome center bezel ring. I decided to give it a try.

Here is my 2 cents on it.

The trim ring does NOT pop off as many suggested that it does. I guess it changed on a 2017? The trim ring has plastic welds on it.

I went to AutoZone and visited the Fast & Furious aisle and grabbed some vinyl wrap.

Used a lil alcohol wipe to cleaned the trim ring before placing the sticker on

Measured trim ring and gave my self a little extra wiggle room (13 1/2 x 11 x 1 1/2) and placed the sticker over the trim and then used an razor blade to trim it to fit.

And Tah-Dah! Let’s see how long it lasts. Lol.

Looks awesome. I was hoping that when I upgraded to my 2017 last year that the "blinding ring of death" would no longer be an issue since the design had changed. It's definitely better than my 2015 but not a whole lot. Anyway great job!

It changed in either 2015 or 2016. I posted more than once that the ring doesn’t pop off on the new design lol

I did the same thing even used carbon fiber wrap. Great job it Looks good. Mine has probably been on for at least a year now and no peeling

That’s too cool for shoes.
The #1 thing I dislike about the interior of my truck that Damn center console Chrome latch. The sun hits it just right n blinds me. I’ve thought several times about getting some electrical tape and covering it.

Lol. Oh well. Now it’s here for someone else to miss like the guy that posted before you. Haha

Question for you, Im replacing the shifter bezel on my console i just bought, with the full console you have. So the full console insert and trim is all one piece? Reason i ask, is thats what i need to order. I didnt see the full console insert with the trim ring attatched to it in the pic i saw of the part.

On that one in the picture the trim ring does pop off. On the newer design which started in 2015 or 2016 the trim ring does not pop off it is plastic welded in to place

Thanks. It was an easy install on placing the vinyl wrap around the chrome trim ring.

I'd like to do something similar only a just want to wrap all that cheap plastic around the screen and switches, but leave the rest as is.
