Hey all, been awhile since I've been here... I'm at 5y 80k miles. My fan clutch is bad and need new one, I'm also doing coolant flush. Ive heard that a tuner, can turn on the e fan and essentially delete the fan clutch. ( Out of warranty plan on buying a tuner) Should I do water pump too while I do a coolant flush, or is that an old way of service? Or if I do plan on getting new fan clutch.

Probably can go until at least 150k on original water pump. Unless loose I would wait. I personally won’t do my coolant again until the next water pump. With the new coolant formulas the coolant is still in nice shape when the water pump fails at least in my truck.

That's what I figured, but old school people always say replace water pump fan clutch and coolant all together, (usually)

Water pumps seem to last longer then they did years ago. But you never know when they will go bad especially if the fan clutch was wobbly and it put a hurtin on the water pump bearing.

Use that WP as long you can. After market pumps suck ass, you can get 150 from the oem, if you are lucky you will get 30k from the rebuilt ones, lol. Yes, that happened to me on an old chevy, after market pump and it failed within 12 months. The shop got me warranty on the pump, but I had to pay the 2nd labor charge.

Not sure if it's wobbly just doesn't engage

As stated above, aftermarket pumps suck a lot of the times depending on the manufacturer. I usually go with mopar stuff.

Should I do a coolant flush at 5 years or should it be good?

I always change fluids long before the recommended timeframe. Can't hurt.
