Most of them are tall enough for high excursion and only have a footprint of 3/8 inch I just want to give my type s some room to enjoy themselves.

Also how are you enjoying the sun downs I just couldn’t buy a brand I’ve never heard in person before I was heart torn between the type S and the Fosgate P3
They are amazing, Sundown is legit in my book.

Yea, the SA12 does very well and prefers a ported enclosure, kinda wondering how it responds to a sealed enclosure. Im sure it handcuffs it a bit, but that might not be a deal breaker

In a truck it won’t make a huge difference it’s going to be loud. I choose ported the subs could output enough to drive 75 mph with the windows down, windows up they are too much . . . . . . . . Sometimes [emoji41]

I’d rather be able to turn it down vs not being able to turn it up enough.

From what i read from sundown, use caution with porting those sd3 and giving too much power.

Oh im sure the output is there, but I am curious on how it sounds sealed. Im confident the FR is smooth and linear, but does it fall off down low?
If so, can I overcome this with power? I know this sub can be great in ported applications, but there are not a lot of reviews in sealed applications so far

Do I have to add an external AMP? I have a JL Audio that I had in my ‘06 with an aftermarket head unit. Now alpine 8.4. I don’t want to change head units again. I like the 8.4 and it’s to much pain to swap out.

I have been using my sundown sub for about 5 years now. I will stick with them until the end.
