Thank you so much for your post MADDOG. That is really helpful. The viberation is at speed, breaks seems rather smooth. I was thinking tire balance or front end.

How are front wheel bearings on this truck???????????? I mean are they easy to replace

I was surprised to see how well the coil spring rear suspension was built. All my research show that the rear suspension is really durable. To be honest I was expecting that to be a weak point.

I do have to run the vin number to see what dif ratio I got. But doesnt really matter to me. The truck works great. I was wondering if there are some difs ratios that are more problemsome then others.

Thanks again MADDOG
Hopefully it's not the Ram death shake.

You guys have been awsome. I will double check that. 2013 is a no go for me. It is out of my price range. It is a big jump in price from the 2011 I am about to buy, when compared to the best deal I can get for a 2013.

HAVE YOU GUYS EVER HEARED OF THE 5.7 HEMI BLOWING PLUGS OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEADS. I AM REPLACING MY 2000 F150 4.6L WHICH i BOUGHT NEW WHEN I WAS 16 STILL HAVE THE WINDOW STICKER FOR IT. I BLEW A PLUG A YEAR AGO, AND JUST BLEW THE HIELY COIL OUT OF IT. NEEDS A NEW HEAD. I NEVER HEARD OF ANY OF THE BIG 3 TRUCKS BLOWING SPARK PLUGS OTHER THEN THEN 98-03 FORDS.

FOR 2011 5.7 HEMI IS IT ALUMINUM HEADS AND ALUMINUM BLOCK. OR IS IT STEEL. OR A MIX OF THE TWO.

THE ONE DODGE DEALER I SPOKE WITH SAID THAT INTAKE MANIFOLDS SEEM TO BE A BIT OF A COMMON PROBLEM. GASKET REPLACEMENT.

The Ford F150 plug spitting was from 1997 to late 2003 and it was because Ford in their infinite wisdom decided that having 4 spark plug threads in the head combined with a low spark plug torque (12 ft lbs) was a good idea. The fix was to torque them to 29 ft lbs so they didn't loosen off and rip up the threads. If they did blow a Heli Coil was not the correct fix either a Time-Sert was, so that is why it blew again. Time-Sert also make what they call a Big-Sert for people like you who used an inferior method to fix the head and had it blow again making the plug hole even larger. I would check that out before replacing the head.

http://www.timesert.com/html/bigsert.html

To my knowledge the Hemi does not have an issue with spitting spark plugs.

The exhaust manifolds are a problem on these. They warp with heating and cooling and break the bolts off causing leaks.

I understand the fuel mileage with a 5 speed. I am ok with that. I don't like trannys with more then 6 gears. too expensive to fix when things go wrong. To many clutch packs, and constantly always shifting for the perfect gear. For me it is not ideal for a long term reliable truck. Thank you for the response.

Your thinking is really backwards :) , the 5/6 speeds lug more often and build heat and burn up the torque converters and clutch packs.
The 8sps dont lug down and shift more and will outlast the 5/6sp easy.

The 5 speed can be manually shifted to prevent lugging. Imho, the 5 speed is a solid transmission. Many make it past the 200000 miles.

I have a 2011 1500 5.7 hemi. I didn't change the plugs until 140,000 km and they didn't look bad at all. I flushed the Trans every 60,000 km since new, but did have to replace a valve body with a stuck solenoid pack. Haven't had any u-joints or bearings replaced. Just replaced a couple axle seals a few months ago that were weeping at 240,000 km and 1 tie rod end that had some play in it is all the front end work I've done. All in all it's been the most reliable truck I've ever owned.

I did have to do the passenger side exhaust manifold, but the drivers side hasn't been a problem

Ever since my cam install and torque converter I manually shift all the time now. The 5 speed feels soooooo much better. Highway cruising is always 4th gear and zero hunting on the hills. Hell 2nd gear winds out real nice now. lol

It feels a lot stronger/responsive vs. just mashing the pedal. I had a hellcat Challenger roll up behind me with demon eyes at lunch today. We had some fun on the expressway, wish I could've pulled off to chat. That **** sounded mean as hell.

Well I guess if you want to manually shift it all the time.

Rarely shifted mine, my 11, rarely lugged. If it was an option, I would have a 6 speed manual on my big Horn.

Yep never heard of this in a ram. Only in jeeps that have a loose trac bar bushing or nut.
I have 120,000 miles on my 2010 ram 1500. Tranny and motor run fine. I do have to replace my leaking rear outer axle seals. Also my drivers door module melted, and i replaced it yesterday. Seems there was zero dialectric grease on the plug. I reccomend pulling the door panels, (which takes 5 minutes) pulling back the film, and applying a liberal amount of dialetrical grease to the module plugs just to be safe. Replacing my melted door harness was not fun.

Thanks for the advice about the dialetic grease. It's advise like this that can help other forum members before the issue arises.

I'll check mine as it's a simple procedure for sake of preventative maintenance.

Edit . With door modules I thought you were referring to the windownswitch control etc?

Just a misspoken word. It’s called the death wobble.

I guess I meant more of not hearing about it being an issue with our trucks, just Jeeps.

Yeah the earlier years had a problem and I think it’s with the steering gearbox. I seen adapter braces aftermarket that fix the problem and reinforce the frame horns on 4x4 models
