You have a Volant, I say keep it. I highly doubt your going to notice any power difference at all changing it. And we all drive with our hoods down, so looks wise you barely ever see it, lol. I say save your money, if it's part of your mod fund, put it towards another mod.
I have an S&B btw, and like it. Don't know how much power it gave me, but it's on there.

^^X2
I've had the S&B for five years and like it: No worries about rain or snow, solid construction, but not very different than the Volant you have.

Once you've installed a quality CAI, there is no real benefit to change.

I suppose the Vararam guys get a fraction of a second on a 1/4 mile from the ram-air effect, but they also have to consider ingestion of water--at least a little bit.

Your truck, your decisions, but for my money I'd stick with what you already paid for and look to procure the next item on the wish list.

So I can say as of now and off the fake mpg reading on the dash it's better while cruising around to. Throttle response is snappy as well.

Driving from IL , to Branson MO tomorrow we will really see how it does

Installed mine today. I haven’t changed the way I drive and noticed increase in at least 1.5mpg. Considering that’s what the dash says. Not sure on throttle response. Still need to remove the active shutters.

IMHO and experience the Vararam seems to be the most noticeable at highway speed and at WOT.

So the trip down to Branson the vararam did great. It held up to the down pour we were meet with, and no water under the filter. The dash read 19mpg on the way down. For me the vararam was worth the money.

I'm literally about the to pull the trigger on a Vararam but the only thing holding me back is the snow getting in the filter. The last thing I want to be doing when its freezing cold and snowing is worrying about snow in my filter. Wouldn't a piece of screen right behind the grill help keep the snow out?

I'm on the South Shore of MA... I'm the same way, I went with S&B just because of the amount of snow/rain we have had over the last few winters...

Wow we're practically neighbors. How are you liking the S&B? Does it alone add any performance or mpg?
