You know, just grab your balls and move em around. Makes driving a joy.

Lol!

The only reason I floor my truck sometimes, is I can give it more and more gas, but the ****** never shifts... I'm hoping the tuner can fix that, as I think that is more of the throttle response issue with Chrysler's... I also hate my trucks shift points...

I don't really wanna run 91, I'm game on 89, but prefer to stay 87. The tuner says upto 15 and with hemi fever upto 35 I'm assuming that message with race rune and 93 octane... What real gains should I expect to see?

I think it depends on what you have in conjunction with the tune. Shift points and throttle response are definitely addressed in the tune. Even if no more power was to be had, the overall driveability is much improved. I never ran the canned tunes, but HF and Greene tunes are definitely worth it.

I run an 89 tune for that reason, I don't want to fill up with premium all the time. The difference between an 89 and 93 tune is probably only visible on a dyno. I felt no difference between the two. But the 4.7 might respond differently.

Downshifting is definitely related to throttle response and custom tune would help with that. I don't know what kind of gains I made by having a custom tune but I do know the truck feels brutal with the tune. I had to go back to the stock tune for a recall last spring and it felt like I was towing 6000lbs.

Dumb question, is the hemi-fever preloaded on, or how does it work?

Should I not load anything until he messages me?

Also I wonder if this will work on my 2.4 dodge dart

The only thing that comes preloaded on the tuner are the Diablo tunes. Sean emails you the custom tunes later in the process I describe below.

I would load a canned Diablo tune on your truck before Sean emails you so you're ready to go. The first time you tune the truck it takes a good 45 mins. It has to read and backup the stock tune. If you can, leave the driver's door open to prevent any modules from going to sleep. After you do the read/backup and load a Diablo tune of your choice, the next time you load a tune takes 5 mins or so.

When he emails you he will ask you about what you're looking for, any mods you've done, what octane gas you like to run, and a few other things I can't remember. Then he sends you the custom tune(s) and gives you instructions on how to create some logs so he can fine tune them.

It sounds like a daunting process but it's really not too bad once you get used to it.

The Dart I don't know if it would work on...

It will be locked to one vin at a time if it does support your dart

So loaded the 87 base tune, and adjusted for tiresize, truck feels much more nimble. I love the new shift points, first use to be too short, and second used to be way to low. Now its utilizing both gears optimally, and its like a new truck... Havent noticed fuel econ increases on the freeway, then again its windy so well see.

In the interm before I get hemifever, what tune should I run?

MPG boost
87 tune
or 87 tow tune?

How do those relate to hemifever?

The MPG boost tune (at least on a Hemi) is garbage. I saw no MPG improvement.
The 87 Tune is what I ran until I got my Hemifever tunes.
Never tried the tow tune so I can't really say anything about it.

The Hemifever tune will blow all of those Diablo tunes out of the water! If you're already seeing an improvement I can't wait to see what a Hemifever tune will do for you

Sounds good, got the tune on and emailed Sean back. So far I'm impressed with the responsiveness and the nimbleness, Fuel econ, not enough drive time to get a conclusive answer, but so far not much difference. The AC fan now turns on at 204, instead of never... I have the 180 t stat coming soon, not sure how to program that in, but not going to install that until I do coolant flush in a month or so, need to start working, BS at work happened so been unemployed for 4.5 months, but going back next week (hopefully) been pushed back 4 times already. So need to conserve funds, kept buying guns over the past few months lol

What is Seans turn around time?

Mention the 180* tstat to Sean, he has to program that into the tune and might just add it when he creates yours. He does adjust things for you as you add mods but its quicker and easier to have it done all at once.

The tstat is really easy to change especially if you're doing a flush.

And that sucks about work, hope that works out for you.

Usually a couple hours. Sometimes overnight...
Man he is quick.

Got hemifever put on, first time I have been able to spin the tires on my truck. Sent logs in, got a new tune, which seemed little less powerful but more tame, so well see what the third 1 will be. Going to get badging at work o going to take my truck and see how she does with fuel econ. Preliminary data shows (evic) 16-19mpg at 70 where it used to be 12-15... Not sure if that's mostly because of tire size, tune? Who cares its great to see. Mind over matter I guess?

Yeah Sean's a good guy. His first tunes for me were brutal but it was pinging like crazy so he had to dial it back a bit over 3 revisions. I would suspect you had the same thing.

Kinda liked the power tune, but cant be good for longevity...

Glad to see the tune is working out for ya.

Power tune is OK for longevity as long as you aren't driving like a maniac all the time. It's nice to have that tune when you need it, like merging on a freeway or running over a Prius.

I actually asked Matt from Moe's Performance about tunes and longevity. He had a 2011 RCSB Hemi with every bolt on available and an agressive tune for over 80000 miles with no issues.

Like Maddog said, just be smart about how you drive it. Have fun with it but don't go crazy and you'll be fine. For added insurance I chose to upgrade all my fluids to synthetics and lowered my drain intervals to help compensate for any additional stress the tuning might put on everything. Probably overkill but it won't hurt anything.

Glad to see the tuning is working for you
