From Allpar site regarding the new Power Wagon:

Buyers will likely get styling closer to that of the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel, inside and out, with all the modern conveniences brought into the Ram line with the 2019s. The 12-inch screen would be handy to show front and rear camera feeds. The 6.4 liter V8 engine is likely to continue for the near future, too, with the same six-speed automatic (though an eight-speed is not impossible).

I'm happy to read that RAM is keeping the Megacab configuration. Rumors were that FCA would drop this configuration as the 5th gens were 4 inches longer already. If I get the urge to trade up to a 5th Gen in a few years, it will most definitely be a long wheelbase Megacab.

Don’t think there is a lwb mega cab. Thought mega cab only came in 6’4 bed? I’d love a mega cab with 8’ bed :favorites37:

The Mega cab shares the same frame (has the same long wheel base) as the full 8 foot bed crew cab. That's what I was referring to. "Long wheelbase, 6'4" bed megacab". A long wheelbase 8' bed megacab would be one beastly truck to pull in and out of your friendly neighborhood grocery store. "Okay, honey, just 6 more adjustments before I get it between the lines". LOL

The 5th Gens look great and the 5th Gen HD's are going to be amazing. Cant wait to see what they turn out like.

I may be tempted on the 5th gen Power Wagon too. Or at least the proper off road package if it comes with a real rear locker and a factory lift. Can't a guy just save some money these days. Too much temptation.

That’s why I park in back in empty spots and can pull right in. Or back in. Even better if I’m pulling trailer I just take all the spots :Big Laugh:

In our truck group of 32. There are now 21 Ram trucks. 1500-3500. Most have made the move to 2500 for towing. Have a few 1500 owners left that want to do the same. They are waiting, as they want to order a 2019 2500. From what we have read. The Warren 2500 plant is under construction. The 2018 2500 order desk will "not" close at the end of August. Orders for 2018 2500 will continue to be accepted thru 10/2018. They say the 2019 will "be out" in 1/2019. Not sure what that means. Any one have a sense for when customers will be able to order the 2019 2500. If the 2018 order desk closes in October,,,,will they start taking orders in Nov and Dec. If so, they would need to release the styling and options before 1/2019. We all know FCA is considering many changes as they sort out what kind of company are they going to be and what they want to get good at.

The HD redesign has been a moving target. Here is a post from a RAM dealer that was put up on the Cummins forum;

"So... Corporate was here yesterday. This is what I was told...

In January the "reveal" will be a 19 with a "refresh". It will not be a 20 model. There were exactly zero details on the new sheet metal past that. There are other internal communications that say the same thing. A "complete" redesign looks like it's on hold.

I am reading between the lines and taking conversations I have had with several people including the national Ram manager. I think the light duty redesign has been met with lackluster enthusiasm and that has caused them to put the brakes on the HD sheet metal. This is purely my speculation.

They also said yesterday that ALL the HD production is scheduled to move to Detroit in June next year. I'm left scratching my head at the wisdom of trying to pull off the logistics of that move all at once. That is what I was told but I remain skeptical.

With the current ordering and production schedule for the 18s and 19s I think we are going to see inventory issues until at least this time next year.

I am still being told there are going to be engine changes. I have no idea what that means. Cummins isn't that far away and I sell a good many to the people there. But they are as tight lipped as a pharmaceutical company doing research on a new drug to cure cancer.

I am still digging to find information. In the mean time I am ordering 18s hoping my inventory lasts until May of next year...."

It is possible: http://stretchmytruck.com/services/longbed-conversion/

It's not a matter of moving anything but redirecting the parts for production. The biger concern should be wether FCA can get the factory ready in time to start building the HD trucks. If I'm not mistaken, there were size issues of building trucks with 8' beds at Warren Truck

8 foot beds at Warren are not an issue.
