i currently have 3.21 gears. After all the money I’ve put into the truck with performance upgrades, I feel these gears are hurting my results.

Do they make 3.92s for front and rear besides factory for the 4 wheel drive trucks?

Expensive install?

Yes they do but from what I understand it’s crazy expensive . You pretty much have to replace the whole front axel with the gears in the newer 2015+ rams along with the rear gears.

Front no rear yes.
Best way for 3.92 is salvage yard unless you have the cash for new.

The rear is just like anything else, the front you need to buy a new/used diff with 3:92 gears in it as the stock gear is welded to the carrier.

You'd think someone would have figured out a way to get around the welds.

If anyone has a pic of the welded gears, I'd love to see what's holding up owners of newer trucks from regearing.

You want 3.92's? This is all you need for the front.

Typical way of gearing is $550 for parts and about $650 for install

This is $1100 and you can install it yourself.

Price wise it's about a wash.

Dam wish I had the money right now I would hit buy on it.. :(

Well that may be a good thing. The shop that did my install is gathering the parts to do a gear swap on an 8 speed truck. You may be able to go lower than 3.92 if you want. I'll find out soon :happy160:

How are they doing it?

But I will be good with 3:92s as I am pretty happy now , the 8sp just helps so much with its low gearing.

Same way mine was done. I gave them the part number for the mount out of a 2010.

And that is true. Really don't need anything lower than 3.92 unless you go bigger than a 35 inch tire.
