First time ram owner. Just picked up a 2014 express. Looking to upgrade radio ASAP. Looking for Bluetooth, stream music, ex. Have young kids possible run a tv in the back so the can watch movies on long trips. Looking to spend 5-600 on the radio. I also wouldn’t mind if I could see gauges and climate controll on the screen. Thanks in advance for suggestions. Post pic if you don’t mind as well.

Head over to the Crutchfield site. You fill out info on your truck and it'll show you everything compatible with it. It will also let you know everything needed to install whatever head unit you decide to go with. Really great site and was extremely helpful when I replaced the HU on my last Ram.

With that budget solely for the headunit. You will get the things you mentioned plus more. Most receivers in that price range have the external video ( to run an rca to a monitor ) you want and def have Bluetooth.
As for the gauges and stuff you will need a maestro setup. The maestro rr itself is 99-125. If you want to add other components to retain steering wheel controls, satélite antena etc you will need other maestro add ons. When your said n done you will spend around 200 extra. Separate from the HU

Thanks for the replies. I needed a little direction. Been along time since I’ve done any audio upgrades.

Just a thought but you could just get a tablet for the kids in the back. Netflix lets you download many shows to the device. You do have to update the download periodically though.

That looks nice. How much did that setup cost you if you don’t mind me asking? And as for the tablet I was thinking about that for them. But I still need something for me up front. As of now I just have am/fm, I can’t even get xm not receiving signal. Think antenna might be disconnected.

I installed it myself. I got the pioneer avic 7200nex on ebay from a online store on there new. I forget what I paid. I think retail it was 1000 bucks new. I paid 5 or 600 bucks new. The idatalink maestro is a must and makes it plug n play

I would focus more on gps than gauges your truck or already has on the dash. Just my .02

Can’t beat that it gives you the codes. Nifty to have access to. Nav is on your phone for free and always updated

Yea I get it I have the express so the only gauge I can easily see is coolant temp. I like to keep my eyes on oil pressure and trans temp.

Phone navigation sucks! And if you get no service, you get no gps. The main feason i bought my alpine is because the gps is great, gives traffic updates, and has free map updates.
Nothing worse than driving around with your phone in your hand using gps, and losing service.

Upgrade from Sprint lol. Went on 3300 mile round trip and ended up using the phone instead of the Nav because it kept messing up. Never had an issue with service (Verizon) Google Maps is light years ahead of anything the manufactures offer. Phone nav is the ONLY way to go, especially with CarPlay readily available now.

Bro how old is your phone? Google maps and Apple maps both download your trip/route in anticipation of any signal loss.

In my Express, you can go through the dash menu and pull up: coolant, trans temp, oil pressure and I believe oil temp all on one page.

Apple maps here or I use my garmin unit but I drive for work out of state most of the year so it’s nice to have my phone freed up.
