Damn that is a nice hood. I am no fiberglass expert, but they did a fantastic job in replicating the mold. No hood pins are necessary? That is very sexy.

Hood pins are not required
It uses the hood latches and hardware from the factory hood
It seems very well built so far
When opening and closing it feels very sturdy
Body guy told me that of the fiberglass hoods he has worked with it was very easy to make look good and very well built

I am on nights tonight and maybe storming when I get up
But if not I'll get some under the hood shots tomorrow

I would like to see the under side of the hood too...mine just went through tennis ball sized hail and will be getting new hood, top, fenders and bed cover, so I am very interested how this would work with my Variram.

Varam won’t fit on the 6.4, but the K&N Cai kit should be a close enough match for the air dump under the hood. I looked at going this route with my 14 2500 6.4

It would fit putting the 5.7 manifold on the truck

I do my best not to drive this truck when weather is rainy or snowy (she’s my garage queen lol ... however I’ve been caught in a torrential down pour before with this set up and had no issues . Don’t get me wrong i was worried as all hell but noticed nothing . In the winter I put the cover back in tho just to lessen the amount of salt pulled in to engine bay.

I am seriously considering ordering one of these Amerihoods for my 07' Quad Cab 1500. I am wondering about the vents on top of this hood. When the truck is parked outside, and it rains, or you wash the truck, where does the water go that enters the vents on each side of the intake scoop?View media item 25919

It goes right down in the engine bay on the sides of the engine . Causes no issues for me.

So the water follows the route, in reverse of the hot air path, and drains down near the exhaust manifolds?

I haven’t actually looked after it rains or I’ve washed it but that would be where I’d imagine it goes . I’ll make a point to look this weekend after I wash it and let u know . I’ll upload some pics for u . Feel free to remind me if u don’t hear from me by Sunday.

Thanks, I would really appreciate the photos and further information. I plan to order the hood next Monday. I am looking at $1,600.00 to $1,700.00 complete installed on my truck, color matched. I think this will be one of the best mods for my truck. I plan to keep my truck for the rest of my life.

I placed my order this afternoon for the hood, for my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn, 5.7L Hemi. It should ship next week. My body shop is waiting for its arrival, so they can color match it to my truck. Thanks for the information you supplied about this hood.

My new hood came in, it looks very good, I am well pleased in how well it was packaged. The plan was to have it finished this week, but unfortunately my wife's car had to go into the shop, so my truck has been moved to next Monday, September 17th. They will have all week to get her done right. I can hardly wait to see her finished. Pictures to follow completion.

Sick hood! I love mine! I took the channel cover out so the air goes directly to my vAraram intake as you can see In photo . Gets as close to forced induction As u can get without supercharger or turbo! U could sell the s&b easy and or swap for a vararam . In winter time I put the “channel plate” back In just so salty air doesn’t get pulled thru filter as easily.

Glad i found this been debating this good for my 18. Your truck is the identical color. I think I just bought a hood lol.
