Color me a Mod A Holic. No matter what it is. Cars, Trucks, ATV, Dirtbike, Firearms, even PC, I can't leave well enough alone.

My 2017 Big Horn 3.6 8 spd is only 3 weeks old and already I'm wearing out Amazon. I bought factory chrome tube steps from my salesman.
Then I went and ordered BakFlip G2 the next day. And then had to get the Back Box tool box. I got Mopar rubber floor mats right off the bat also and I got an organizer for the bottom console.

In honor of Father's Day and Miss. State Bulldogs going to the College World Series (with an INTERIM coach no less) my wife bought me a MSU license plate to put on it.

I wish there was a tuner for these things and I am looking for a factory Hemi dual exhaust and bumper. More for the look than the sound.

So here are some pics.

How much did you pay for the truck? I'm going shopping next week.

$30 after all the Mopar discounts and the dealer discounts. I couldn't believe they still had 2 more 2017's brand new after this one. Gosset in Memphis. I don't know if they still have the other 2. One was red with the Hemi, Big Horn and a sun roof. The other was white, but they added a 6" liftkit, so they were asking $40 or $42 for it. I was torn on the Hemi, but they wanted $2500 more and I just fell in love with the gas mileage. I don't tow anything, so I don't need the extra hundred horses and hundred thirty lb feet..

Ok, need isn't the right word. Want to pay for. Plus I am worried that gas is about to go way up in the next 2 years.

Thanks. I'm going to look at a used 16 same color 4wd with 15k miles 3.6 with Alpine sound system CPO for $28k I have to see how low they are willing to go esp knowing what you paid. It's definitely over priced. I have 5 different ones to look at tomorrow from 4 dealers. The one I mentioned is top of my list. I'm torn between that and a 14 Laramie with air suspension asking $24.5 with 40k miles but it has a hemi. I prefer the 3.6 for the mpg also.

I did a 60 mile country round trip Friday night to take the family for catfish. Cruising most of the way at 60 the information display was showing a pretty steady 27-31 mpg on level ground. It's got enough power, but I can tell with a car load of people, that pulling a 5k trailer wouldn't exactly be fun. It could handle it, but I wouldn't want to race anyone.

So far in 3 weeks and 1k miles, I love this truck. I may add some kind of sub to it, but I am pretty impressed with the non-Alpine sound system. I'll ride out the year long Sirius trial. My wife has it in her new 2018 Equinox, so I can add to the family plan...but I've been happy for several years just BT streaming Pandora or my Google Play Music.

The best thing about the new Ram is the storage. In the console, in the doors, in the rear floor, under the rear seat...it's pretty amazing.

Oh, one MOD I forgot that I just added was an AEM dry drop in air filter. Not sure if it will increase the MPG's or not, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I'd rather someone come out with a way to tune it without a PCM swap (if that is what it would take) being that a tuner could adjust throttle sensitivity and more....but I do have a Pedal Commander on the list of potential mods.

The other potential mods I am looking at are a chrome Mopar bug deflector and in the channel Vent Shades, and a little tint on the front doors.

Ok, so I didn't really like the stock system as much as I said. I ordered 2 sets of 6x9's for the doors and a Rockville powered 8" sub. I am going to put the sub behind the back seat, so I may do the folding back seat mod when I am in there to get access to even more storage. I'll probably get this all and do it when my wife and stepson go to Nashville for a concert around July 8. Don't need to have questions of wtf are you doing to your brand new truck!!!!

That’s funny!! I’ve had a center console with all the hardware and the steering wheel switch mods sitting at work for the last week waiting for my wife and son to go visit her uncle next week, for a week. Been waiting for her to go for the same reason. Going to get the console done hopefully Wednesday and Thursday.

I put on my screen protector on my Nav system today. Pretty easy...5 minute job. I looks great. It's glossy so it makes the screen look really good...like it went from 720 to 1080. Not night and day, but a very nice upgrade.

I lost or didn't get the suction cup it comes with to keep your prints off while you mount it, so I used latex gloves. I lined it up, stuck in on at the bottom left corner and ran my finger diagonally to the top right corner. From there it pretty much pulled itself onto the radio. I have 1 tiny spec of dust under it at the very top not really noticeable. No air bubbles anywhere else, so I am going to leave it. The sun shows dust, but that's on the outside...when I started the truck up the a/c must have blown some dust around. It was spotless for a second.

So I'm NOT the only one.....I have some lights and **** behind Christmas decorations in the garage, just waiting there until the wife takes the kids to grandma's for a few days next month. It'll be just me, the dogs and my mistress...

BTW... Welcome to mod-a-holics anonymous. It's not a choice, it's a disease.

So this is my disguise:

That big box (Dakota Exhaust system if someone wants) is on top of the white cabinets. I'm hoarding a lot of crap to get it back running and rewire it. The hatch is propped open and is packed full of stuff. Which now includes 2 pair of Pioneer 6x9 TS-A6966R that I learned from another thread here fit fine. There's also a Rockville 8" sub to go behind the back seat.

Now, I am just waiting for the wife and stepson to go to Nashville for a concert the weekend and couple days after the 4th!! It's going to be hotter than a bonfire, but I won't have to get questions about taking apart my BRAND NEW truck!!!!!

So today I installed 4 new TS-A6966R 6" X 9" 3-Way Pioneers. Thanks to @PowrRam for his post stating that these will fit front and rear door locations, despite everything on the Internet saying they won't fit.

Installation was straight forward. I got the Metra adapters also. 72-6514. Plug and Play installation. It all took less than an hour once I got my FANS and my moving blanket to kneel on out.

The front doors and back doors are virtually the same. On the front, start by popping off the triangular trim by the mirror. You can just grab and pull, but of course a nylon trim tool is best. Then behind the door handle, there's a piece of trim that pops out. Pop it from the top, it's trapped at the bottom. There's one phillips screw behind there. Then around the perimeter of the door are t20 plastic screws. You can monkey around trying to unscrew them. In actuality, they are just ribbed plastic pins that go into expanding anchors. Just use a small flat blade or trim tool to pop them out. Then pop the anchor out. Take the trim tool and pop the lock/window switch out and disconnect it. Then lift the door panel up and it will come off.

The Pioneers are a direct fit replacement. Just unscrew the 4 screws. Put the wire adapter on the speaker. Plug it into the truck. Then reverse procedure to put back together.

For the back door you don't have the trim by the mirror, but you have trim on the back of the window that must come off for the panel to lift up.

IMG_20180630_111852.jpgThis is the piece of trim that comes off by the mirror (well it has already come off).
IMG_20180630_111857.jpgThis trim behind the handle comes off and you can see where the phillips screw goes.
IMG_20180630_111900.jpgHere is one of the torx head plastic anchor pins. Pull the screw looking part out then the anchor can

come out.

IMG_20180630_112053.jpg Here's the anchor when it comes out.

Then the speaker replacement and the piece of back door trim.

IMG_20180630_112418.jpgPiece of crap cheap stock speaker.
IMG_20180630_114418.jpgPioneer 3 way!!!! FTW!
IMG_20180630_114836.jpgPiece of trim on rear door that has to come off.
IMG_20180630_114818.jpg Look it's off!

IMG_20180630_120519.jpgHere's the trim tool removing the door handle bezel.
IMG_20180630_120508.jpgHere I have removed the window switch.
IMG_20180630_121756.jpgHere's the piece of trim that covers the phillips screw behind the handle. You can see the edge is trapped under, so make sure you pop it out at the top.
IMG_20180630_140852.jpg I made the mod to the driver's rear seat so it can fold down. You must unbolt it, close it up about half way, pick up on the seat and pull it forward. There are 2 of these hooks They extend out about an inch. Cut them off even with the white plastic. Now when the seat is raised up to about 45 degrees at the point the seat back gets the highest, you can pull it forward and fold it down. I am going to mount the sub on the back wall...it just fits from my tests. I'll detail that more tomorrow.
