Just got my basic kit in the other day and hopefully I can install it in the next couple days.

I'm looking forward to you doing this. I am on the fence on buying it myself.

I was able to knock out the installation of the basic kit in exactly an hour and it works perfectly! Getting access to behind the rear seat was the kind of a pain but once that was taken care of it was pretty much plug and play.

X2 what Mike said. I installed this 2 weeks ago. Took a couple of pics when I did it. First pic: top on the left is the new RFH hub (pink connector on the right side is where remote start antennae plugs in). It replaces your original RFH hub in the same location. Just below the RFH hub is one of 2 antennas you install. It is simply held onto the rear metal bulkhead with 3M adhesive tape that is used for auto trim. One goes on the back wall as shown and the second you place up front under your dash or console. Then switch out the WIN module.

I'm slowly convincing myself to go ahead with the push button start and passive entry kits.

Maybe after the rest of the mods are done I'll do this. The old ladies challenger has the push button start and it's a cool feature

About to attempt this also, but I have a question that hopefully someone smarter than I am can answer. How does a person remove that back panel/trim to access this? I've tried looking it up several times, but without knowing what its called I've had no luck.

I figured i'd post my experience with this kit for those who are or might be interested in these. Although I really didn't care about remote start, I went with the #12 premium kit for my 17 regular cab and did everything at once because why not.

As some posts have mentioned, the kits are pretty pricey. However if your truck didn't come with these features and you want to remedy that... it is what it is. Some parts of the install weren't bad at all, while others made me want to set the truck on fire with me inside it.

You have to buy and replace an entire hood latch because of the way a sensor is sandwiched inside it. There is even a small screw you can remove as if they wanted to troll you into thinking you could simply swap it to your old one. Engineers... /sigh.

The door handles would have been much easier had I taped up the window and removed the inner door panel/window tracks. Regular cab windows are the size of boat sails, and doing this alone I was too afraid of scratching my tint and or breaking one of them. I simply bled and cursed and powered through it like a good little *********.

Regarding the remote start install. Before you start make doubly sure you don't already have the harness installed from the factory. Check for the pre-existing wire in pin 11 that the instructions mention, and if it exists, check again for the harness you didn't find. You could possibly save yourself some time and a LOT of pain and aggravation. Ask me how I know. :banghead:

In my experience the company was great to deal with. Everything was nicely bundled, and labeled. The new fobs were ready to go with my new rf hub, but the key blanks required cutting. My local dealer quoted $35+, but I went to a locksmith who did both for $4. All the videos and pdf instruction sheets for the install are posted on their website. It was pretty easy to get a live person on the phone, they answered any stupid questions I asked, and flashed my code remotely. Everything works like its supposed to, and the skin is even starting to grow back on my hands. :D

Has anyone else done this? Preferrably with the full center console. This is one of the first things I plan to install in my truck in the near future...

I have the console. Removing it and the seats is easy enough.

Has anyone upgraded to push start with alpha obd yet on 2016 ram 2500?

td....I have installed the pushbutton start on my 2017 2500 Cummins. I got the "basic" kit from AutoTechElectronics that comes with the RFH hub programmed to your truck, 2 antennas, and a WIN module (but no proximity door handles which are in the upper level kits). You do NOT need the Alpha program to make this work EXCEPT for a safety feature described below which I pasted from a prior post.

As far as the pushbutton start aspect it will work like stock without changes to the BCM. Now if you want the safety feature of not locking your FOB in the truck THEN you need the ALPHA for that feature. The below post is from the Alpha thread, page 104, post #1035. Check on some of my other posts if you need more.

"Got FOBIK SAFE ENABLE in the RFH hub "set" and now the safety feature of not locking the FOBIK inside the truck WORKS!

I had added KEYLESS GO to my RAM and wanted the safety feature that prevents locking the FOB in the truck to work. With the FOB inside and locking the door with the door control button by the power window switch, if you close the door the lock button pops back up and the horn chirps 3 times. To get that same function I changed 3 settings in the BCM. KEYLESS GO / PASSIVE ENTRY PRESENT / FOBIK SAFE ENABLE. After changing the BCM the safety feature was not working and posted here looking for input. An additional step that was missing and needed that CHACH caught was to UPDATE THE RFH hub. I followed Chach's instructions and SUCCESS, the feature works! "

I installed this recently on my Ram 1500 Express. I went for the higher end model with the door handles. I did some changes with the connectors as well as the door connector so I did not have to run the cable through the plastic portion, and the so the door could be easily removed for service. As well as my center console install almost complete. One question though is has anyone not had the dashboard instructions not appear for this new setup saying to push brake pedal to start, or keyfob out of vehicle etc. Mine still works otherwise, just not sure if the BCM needed to be flashed or not if it was supposed to change over to that with the install.

Man looks good. I'm jealous lol. I have a few questions if you're able to answer. I'm trying to put together a parts list to do this without laying out for an expensive kit. Like the hood latch assy. You honestly don't need it. You can just ground pin 11 of the BCM connector with a 1k ohm resistor. The remote start ant that plugs in the new rf hub. Is it the same or is it different? What I was wondering tho if you had the part numbers for

Keyless Go RF Hub
68363199AC $77
68213679AG <--- More expensive? $146
68245484AD <--- Used in a certain Kit $95 and in Mopar Parts Online specifically says is for Ram 1500-5500's

Keyless Go front & rear antennas
56046958AA ???? $7.89 CHEAP WHY?

Keyless Go WIN

Keyless Go push start button
6CK46DX9AC $64

Remote Start and Keyless Entry Antenna
68144668AB $102

Hood latch assy not truly needed

Heard that a certain kit doesn't even use oem connector for those two new antennas. I have those

I have found some part numbers for the rf hub and the push button but like to compare with what you have. I don't yet have numbers for the WIN module or those front & rear antennas and I'm not 100% sure that the remote start antenna is inter changeable tho I believe it is.

Once I have everything and installed myself I'll do up a thread specific topic. Btw I have a '17 5500 c&c tradesman ...

Thanks

Cillys.......I bought the kit from a company called Autotechelectronics, so what info follows is from what they sent me. Keep in mind that I have a 2017 Ram 2500.

1) The pushbutton start button is a called a WIN module and the part number you have is correct 6CK46DX9AC

2) The part number for the antenna is also the same, you need 2 of 56046958AA

3) The RFH hub....this is where things get somewhat gummed up and confusing. So let me try to explain. Up until 2016 Rams with remote start had a separate remote start antenna that was mounted on the passenger side up by the back window behind the headliner. Starting in 2017 Ram switched to an RFH hub that INCLUDED inside of it the remote start antenna, doing away with the separate remote antenna that was mounted up on the passenger side.

So when I did this mod the company sent me an RFH hub from a 2016. This caused a problem for me and why you see in the picture I posted a remote antenna (that connects to that pink connector). The 2016 RFH hub they sent did NOT have the remote antenna built in like an RFH hub for a 2017 would. Now like I said my Ram is a 2017. So when I installed the 2016 RFH hub from the kit I now had NO remote antenna. The company I bought the kit from at first did not realize this RFH hub change until I contacted them. They then supplied the remote antenna and I had to ADD it.

I explain all of this because you end up in being able to do this mod 2 ways. First-use an RFH hub for Ram's 2017 and newer that has the remote antenna built in, or Second- use an RFH hub for a Ram 2016 and older and add the remote start antenna which is what I ended up doing because the kit I got had the 2016 RFH hub instead of a 2017 one.

Unfortunately I do not have the part number for the 2016 RFH hub that my kit included, nor of the remote start antenna that I had to add but you should be able to find those part numbers if you decide to do it this way. I also do not have the part number for the 2017 RFH hub that INCLUDES the remote start antenna and is keyless go capable. I can only surmise that the differences in pricing you got for the RFH hubs is because the more expensive RFH hub is the one having the remote start antenna built in.

Keep in mind that you will also need to make changes in the RFH hub for the keyless go to function.

Feel free to ask any questions you may still have................

Yes I know the of the company. I plan on piece milling my own kit. I already have remote entry and I'm a '17 MY & 3/17 too. Did you already have remote entry and remote start? That's a new piece of info about the integrated remote start ant ... I suppose a less expensive way to go is MY16 rfhub keyless go capable and adding the separate remote start antenna ... being slightly older technology and all ... ha

yes I already had remote start and remote entry. I pasted below pics of my ORIGINAL RFH hub. You will notice it does not have the connection on the right side for a remote antenna to hook up. Compare it to the pic I pasted in this thread earlier that shows the 2016 RFH hub and the pink connector for the remote antenna.
