You'll need the 97 solenoid group, governor pressure solenoid and governor pressure sensor as well as 97 neutral safety

No, the balance weight is on the flexplate for a 96+ truck. Trans goes right in, either converter. What you will actually have to do is remove the pan and do some sensor swapping to match the 2000 trans to the 97 harness.
It doesn’t matter what engineers want though. When the money guys ask “Will this thinner oil get us X number of miles 98% of the time and get us X amount better fuel economy across the fleet?”
It doesn’t matter that the engineer says
“well yes but this thicker oil will reduce wear particulate...
Can’t recommend an installer but what are you doing for tuning it? Can’t just slap it in and go, I highly recommend contacting FRPTuning. They’re out of Houston/Katy and will get you setup with that. I very much recommend not dealing with the half-assed crap tunes you can get through Hughes
I don't like to come off as an ass but, if you have to ask...it's over your head. Engine swaps are one of those things that you kinda have an idea of what it takes going into it. Or you're independently wealthy and a shop is handling it. Yes, you can learn and with enough time and money there's...
Fuel sync is more critical with aftermarket camshafts. It's not just used at startup though. Fuel sync is an electronic reading for mechanical engine timing. It's an interpretation of cam position in relation to piston position for the number 1 cylinder. While it's not directly using that all...
Plenum isn't fixed with the TSB, it's hidden with timing retard because when the engine would burn oil it would ping. Pretty easy job the actually fix it though and plenty of info here on the forum, including a sticky thread.
Cracked heads isn't a concern. They all crack between the valve...
Went from a single 3" exhaust to a dual 3" with a different muffler. Not sure exactly what sound I'm looking for but I gotta say the duals aren't bad. Used a FlowMonster muffler from Holley. Dual in, dual out but they DO NOT crossover inside. Most DI/DO mufflers have some version of an x-pipe or...
Single exhaust is more efficient. Proper equal length duals of proper size vs proper size Y pipe, the y pipe is more efficient at scavenging. The problem you run into with single exhausts is size limitation vs volume. 1000hp supercharged big block street car (unrealistic I know but it's for...
Hell yeah, Airgap/M1 is a great upgrade. You'd have to kill me to get mine off me and even then you'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands lol
Finally fixed my cracked transfercase that’s had the truck parked for awhile now. Then immediately put about 300 miles on it. Re-motivated on the...
Well, is it a stock cam or is it an aftermarket cam?
You can be mad all you want but they ALL have problems. Hemi is great design but every engine has flaws and manufacturers aren't helping when they reduce viscosity of oil to help with emissions.
Might also help posting this in the correct...
408 is a 360 with a longer stroke. Tune-up and making sure it's mechanically sound is the best starting point. From there a set of longtube headers and a tune from FRP are the 2 biggest bangs for the buck.
+1 to Rado, I only ever suggest flushes in applications where:
1. there's a lot of sludge when you open the engine up
2. engines like my 5.0 Ford that have VCT solenoids that get gummed up and have scanner verified cam timing issues
3. engines that spent a lot of time sitting and now burn a...
