Didn't get any videos cause it was so dark out. The ones taken was blurry. Didn't do bad, didn't do good either. It was fun though. Got home at 4am. :sleepy10:
Big drag race today at a local fair. This is always my favorite one of the year. I'm hoping to do good like last year. Beautiful day too. Engine will run nice and cool.
Clamp from the header to y-pipe got loose and started rattling so I tightened it. Yet to have the 4x4 checked out though.
I did get promoted to assistant manager with a $2 raise today FINALLY! :D
Still savin for my new wheels.. :baby:
Truck has hit the 500 mile mark on my gears. Afraid to get fresh fluid in it again since that's when it started.
My 4x4 isn't working and everything is hooked up. Something with the actuator I'm assuming. I'll get it looked at within the next week.
Finally back! Beach was pretty nice.
Next Saturday the team is coming down to Newtown, VA for a huge drag race. Got the fourwheeler ready yesterday on my day off. 4 hour drive so I think some of us are camping.
Can't wait to see some of the fastest quads on the east coast down there.
Finally got my truck back and 0 noise so far. :)
He replaced everything. Got a new gear set and all the bearings. Better not start again after the 500 mile mark. Since I gotta take it easy on this thing since that's the break-in time.
With the extra time and money I spent on this thing, this would have been worth it, lol.
Called back. He got a new ring and pinion. He said he didn't want to take a chance on it doing it again. Has the rear set up. Said about bearing preload being too much.. He's tearing apart the front just...
I can't believe what I heard from the tech where my truck is at. Said the gear was alright, it wasn't as bad as he thought. Said the pinion bearings were over-preloaded also. So he's gonna replace the bearings for the 3rd time...
Total opposite from what my local Dodge tech said. I can't wait...
I'll probably regret not taking your advice Mark but if he's gonna do everything again and pay out of his pocket, more power to him. If he messes it up again, which I'd figure he wouldn't, I'll be doing that. Several guys up here with jeeps and a guy with a big Ford sent me his way since they...
Been in the business for 10 years. Would figure he would be pretty good at it being an offroad shop.. Anyways, I'm heading out tomorrow morning early to drive down. I'll post updates Thursday. Hoping it'll be done by Friday due to a race this Saturday.
Got the truck back.
Pinion depth was wrong and he said it put grooves in my gear. So he couldn't do anything about it but reassemble and charge me for the bearings he replaced. Local mechanic called the guy that did them and said everything that he uncovered. He understood.
Looks like I'm...
Should be getting my truck back today. After a week without my truck, I'm about in a state of depression.
Was slow at work, and I went to put on gloves and grab the grease gun. Walked out and forgot I still didn't have my truck.
I couldn't take it back because it was so bad. Couldn't drive it 2 hours. I said after this time, if I hear any hint of grinding, I'm headed straight down there. I think he might of found the problem though. Won't know for sure till I drive it 50 miles or so. Said about the pinion or carrier...
Tranny is good though lol. Besides 2nd gear...
For some reason I've been seeing 13mpg according to the Fuelly app on my iPhone. 50/50 city/highway.
WUT.
Truck is going back Monday to my mechanic. It's grinding like a ***** again. Whining and everything.
He said the only thing he would think are the bearings. He said we could replace just 1 IF it's showing wear (which none were last time), but if none of them are, I guess we're just replacing...
I like it! I had a Spectre CAI and sold it to my other 2nd gen buddy. It definitely clears up a lot of engine bay room. Don't get one if you don't wanna hear a ton of whistling/whooshing.. :naughty:
