I want to lift it!
Maxtrac and Doetsch Tech make 2" and 3" lift coils for the front. Doetsch Tech also has 3" lift spindles. Upper control arms are needed if going 2.5" or more, unless you use lift spindles. Again Doetsch Tech, I believe, is the only one who still makes UCAs. Not many companies still make... -
4x4 Posi-Lok review
Because the carrier doesn't turn. Since the passenger side shaft is two piece only the outer shaft spins with the wheel. The inner spins the opposite direction as the driver side shaft. Since both sides are disconnected from one another it only spins the side and spider gears not the whole...- BBartow

3 inch lift and tires
If 315/70R17 is too big and you think 285/70R17 will be too small, why not go with 285/75R17? -
Brake upgrades?
I have 2500ld calipers/pads and gm 1ton rear cylinders. Stock 1/2 ton single piston calipers are 75mm and 2500ld are 80mm piston diameter with the same casting. 1500 rear cylinders are 24mm, ram 2500/3500 are 28mm, and gm 1ton are 30mm bore. 00+ have 2 piston calipers and have rear bosch brakes... -
Ball Joint Help
This is the 2nd gen section, no zone uca's for our trucks. Though if OP went with spacers bigger than 2" he will need new uppers. i think Doetsch tech is the only ones who still make them. Fabtech used to. -

Herculiner is garbage. If professional go with LineX, if DIY Monstaliner or Raptorliner are the only way to go. -

Its the pinion head that gets smaller with lower gearsets. -

I'm not sure how much v10/dsl springs will lift it on the 2wds but if its over 2.5" you will need new upper control arms. -

Buying 2000 Ram 1500 P.U.--What to Check Out?
As for the heads hairline cracks are common between intake and exhaust valve seats since the casting is thin. I'd suspect a lot of these trucks driving around have them. Normally you will burn off a very little bit of coolant over time. You won't smell it out the pipe nor will you see it in the oil.- BBartow
