    yeah,merc said he don't think it's a bad head gasket because it's not overheating..the temp gauge stays right at quarter mark...i am just going to get it flushed out with new coolant...should be good to go after that.

    exactly...there was a cream paste at the top of radiator under the cap,but i wiped it off...what was that paste?

    i am taking it into the mechanic next week.i would do it myself,but it's to cold here to be running the hose through...water will freeze and crack the block...my buddy on fb told me that the truck may have over heated once before and or the radiator is dirty and needs to be cleaned out.

    doesn't smell like oil,temp gauge stays below half way mark..doesn't over heat...any ideas?

    coolant temp stays under the halfway mark at all times..doesn't run hot.
