How big do I need to go??

Likely just a couple inch front level, but offset will matter as you may run into issues with the control arms rubbing.

Rpms drop when coming to a stop

Have you looked into anything? Could be a nasty throttle body/IAC stuff. Check that out!

What do I need to buy

That makes life a LOT easier. You'd only need a set of springs and shocks for the front (You may have to remove brackets that lowered the sway bar or get short end links again), and simply removing lift blocks in the rear!

What do I need to buy

Sorry no one hit this thread yet! Steering parts are easy to find in good quality. As per your first question the 2003 (I'm assuming you've got a 1500 here) uses torsion bars, so likely different keys and different shocks to lower as well as removing anything that was used to lower the front...

    Straight pipe

chrisp2493 is right, worst thing is you just change it again. If you wanna get a feel for how it sounds with a straight pipe cut it off and drive it around the block, if you love it fine, if you hate it, slap a muffler on that bad boy.

New (to me) truck, a few questions!

Just like devans said, dually = stability. The truck weighs more, so that extra weight factors into overall numbers. What are you planning on towing with it?

    Code lookup

Turn the truck off, key in the ignition and just turn it off to on three times (not engaging the starter) and then leave it on. Codes will display on the dash where the odometer usually displays.

What did you do to your Gen3 today?

Oh I totally agree! It's ridiculous. Filed an insurance claim ($700 estimate for a new grill installed) and listed them as the responsible party so PD and insurance have to go after them.

    03 2500 5.7 Averaging 9-10mpg

That does feel a bit low though... at least compared to mine. My 5.7 2500 is a quad cab long bed and even dragging that fat ass around I still get 12-13 in town and I drive it like I stole it 80% of the time.

What did you do to your Gen3 today?

    I can get behind this!

    Belltech Rear Sway Bar Install

Exactly. Feel free to install everything loose with the truck lifted, but align it with it on the ground, and tighten all mounts/bushings with it on the ground.

What did you do to your Gen3 today?

Walked out and watched someone back their bike rack into it, wrinkling up the chrome on the main upright of the grill pretty badly, then take off. Got their plate, but PD said there's little to no case since it's just the chrome damaged and there wasn't any visible damage to the other guys rack...

    Belltech Rear Sway Bar Install

You should be tightening everything with the trucks weight on the wheels. Ramps would make it nice and easy.

    It worked! Sub $60 bars

What did you do to your Gen3 today?

Working on some home brewed budget cross bars for the bed today. Will update if it works... If not I'll pretend like it never happened.

    truck stalled in reverse

My 4.7 used to do this occasionally (2006) and it ended up being an electrical issue. The harness into the PCM has cracked tabs allowing it to flex and loose connection occasionally. Super random but worth checking.

    Spare Tire MAX size?

I'll snap one for you later today, but it'll only work on a long bed. I probably should have mentioned that. The spare fits between the wheel well and the front of the bed, then just looped a strap through the hub hole to the corner tie down. On my short bed 1500 I had the spare against the...

    Spare Tire MAX size?

As far as size goes like previously said the exhaust clearance is usually the issue. You can replace the cable lift if the cable was cut, it bolts in. I personally carry two spares, one on the cable and one strapped in the bed along the side so that's an option if you don't want to replace the...

    2009 winch mount

I know there are a lot of similarities in the early 4th gen and late 3rg gen frames in a normal 2500, but I'm not 100% sure that would work. Hopefully this bump helps someone who knows see this!

    Doppleganger

There's a truck that's exactly the same color, year, and configuration that lives a block down from me. Exactly the same to a T. I've actually tried to unlock it before thinking it was mine.

    Call that beast "blueberry"

    Lifting 2500 2wd gas truck

:roflsquared: Totally agree... It's coils, shocks, and sway bar links. But we all know Carli isn't cheap!

    Lifting 2500 2wd gas truck

I've been having similar issues, considering a good coil based level (Don't want to use pucks) for the front of my 2500 hemi as well since I'm going to be pulling the front end apart to do struts and other bits soon anyway. Very hard to find coils for the gas trucks and I agree with...

    2002 dodge ram 1500 4.7L

This sounds similar to issues I had with my old 4.7. The plastic clip that holds the harness into the PCM was snapped, allowing the harness to wiggle loose occasionally and throw tons of random codes, usually in similar groups as certain parts of the plugs loose connection. This sometimes...
