    Valve covers cuz oil leak

Welp I took care of the job today and it went pretty well, besides me spilling about a quart of fresh oil all over my freshly cleaned valve covers :| Everything went smoothly though, even with the bolts in the back hiding under all the harness wires. Oil is holding pressure and not dropping...

    Valve covers cuz oil leak

Awesome! Thanks for the replies guys. I really appreciate it. Just need to know if the valves should be cleaned with something or if the gasket swap is all thats needed. I'm not sure what's routine when changing out the valve cover gaskets. Sorry to be asking stuff over an over, but just not sure.

    Valve covers cuz oil leak

Lol, hopefully that doesn't happen to me. So no go on the sealant? And should I clean the valves? I plan on doing an oil change after I fix the oil leak since I've added like 5 extra quarts of cheapo oil to keep the engine oiled until this is fixed. Thanks for the response dodge dude!

    Valve covers cuz oil leak

I'm doing my first valve cover gasket change on my Ram and I was just wondering if any of you guys have any tips or tricks? I did a little research as far as if I should put a sealant on the gaskets or not. Some say yes, some say no, some say it depends. I have a stock 318 so I was just gonna...

    any cool 1st gens?

I want that brush guard dwysywd. Only if I didn't have a plow mount, that is. I still have yet to see with my own eyes a crew cab of one of the older Rams. And that trailblazin' one you got Landmissle is your daily driver? Gee, makes me wonder what your leisure cars look like.

Time machine fits well. Looks better than some of the new cars that are driving on the roads today. It shines too! I wish mine didn't have any rust *grumbles*

    Broken Wipers

Actually, I found it to be a bad ground not too long ago. As I said in my initial post, I ended up spending the money to get a new wiper switch. Guess that was 50 bucks not needed to be spent. I'm curious if I should just put the old one back in and use it until it fails. Anyway, the ground...

    Help finding Ram parts

Classic 2 Current fab has a good amount of panels and light fixtures available. Here's a link; go here and put in your truck model and year: http://www.c2cfabrication.com They're actually having a sale now so if you check soon, you'll get a good deal as their prices are already better than...

    quick question

Wow that is cheap. But to answer your question, most body panels on the first gens have stayed pretty consistent. So you should be safe to get parts off an older model. If you have the standard cab on both, the bed should be the same size as well. Totally understand the sentimentality of the Ram...

    Looking for tailight panel

I only said lmc because they have the biggest selection for parts for a first gen. I agree though, they're rather expensive and I have found many parts much cheaper, no doubt about it. Just no one sells brand new tailgates for the first gen. I live in Ohio and can't relate more with you with the...

    Looking for tailight panel

Dear God, how did you find such a mint tailgate? I've been looking around and LMC doesn't sell new tailgates. Don't use that for a table, I'll put it to good use. *grabby hands* All jokes aside, wish I lived near you because I would have stripped that dodge clean. Heck, I prolly would have just...

    Bleeding clutch

I figured that being an all enclosed system without a bleed nut means that it shouldn't be bled unless otherwise worked on, as both you said. I just know many other makes have a bleeder nut so the system can be bled. So ultimately the tranny might have to be dropped in order to look at it to...

    Bleeding clutch

Hey guys, looking for some help/advice. I've tried researching on ways to bleed the clutch in my 92. However, I kept getting results saying that it can't be done. So I went underneath and found that must be it. It seems to be all one unit, sealed and unable to be bled. The reason why I want...

    1990 Dodge Ram W350 Cummins

Ahahaha. I totally read that and then did a double take because I unfortunately took it the other way. As I said in "Any cool 1st gens?", very nice truck you got. I really want to get started on fixing mine up, but I don't have a garage to work in because most of my body panels need replaced...

    any cool 1st gens?

I've always been fascinated by diesel engines. Part of me wishes I found a cummins dodge 1st gen. Then again, I know little to nothing about diesel engines and I don't know anyone, so I would be in a pinch if something happened to it lol. Very nice truck nonetheless, Stock. It's in very nice...

    any cool 1st gens?

Ohhh ok. I actually had to research a little on plasti dip. I've heard about it but never really looked into it. That's actually a pretty good alternative to have it stay safe until you can afford a good paint job. And that's probably a shine on the top rather than a big "bald spot" I'll call it...

    any cool 1st gens?

Very nice Prospector. Is that a new paint job? Can't tell from here if it's a blue or a black, but I really like the two tone. I can't wait until I get the body fixed up on mine and give it a new paint job. I want'er to look all nice and pretty and I can take'er to shows. Your prospector is in...

Guess I'll have 150k miles forever

Holy shit those buggers are expensive. Guess will have to check to see if that's the problem but unfortunately, that's probably the problem. Just don't want to spend 50+ bucks but if it fixes the problem, might be worth the investment. lol Thanks crazzywolfie and others who've help me with...

Guess I'll have 150k miles forever

I'm trying my best to keep my truck stock and unchanged, so I'm trying to stick with original parts. I've driven my truck a few times on the highway since it stopped counting miles but it didn't start back up again. But perhaps there may be something stuck in the mechanism. The previous owner...

Guess I'll have 150k miles forever

I've been too worried about what's going on under the hood and figuring out little things like these are a little low on my priority list. I'm not driving the truck around a lot right now so I'm not worried about it not counting miles, but it is an issue I am worrying about nonetheless. Once I...

Guess I'll have 150k miles forever

Hey guys, I have a weird issue going on with my speedo. A little while back, I didn't have a speedo. Started it up and got going and then I realized I was still at 0 mph. Then a few days later I went to drive the truck again and I had my speedo back, but it wasn't counting miles anymore. I...

    Trucks almost done

I'm on mobile and I took a look at your first picture and I was like "woah, front and rear duellies? That looks weird" lol But I'm diggin the color and the wheel choice. Charcoal is my go-to color, very neutral and can match with basically any color. Can't wait to see it lifted.

    1992 fixer upper thread

Well, I've seen a few guys post project threads around the site and said, hey why not me? Even though I haven't done much since I've gotten my truck, I've done a few things to it and at least I can get my thread going. I'll tell you what though, I have a lot planned for this truck and...
