I am not disagreeing, and appreciate your effort. I hope it works out as described, but, as hemimann said, I have heard this song and dance before. Fingers crossed.

IIRC Nissan basically owns JATCO, and their CVTs were sold to other automakers, and were pretty darn bad. Subaru makes their own, I think. Not sure on Honda and Toyota.

Tavares and his PSA minions completely destroyed FCA's value equation. They ass-umed they could milk us dumb Jeep and Ram American customers for all we were worth to fund their global needs. But their unbridled arrogance bit them in the ****, and sales absolutely collapsed. All automakers...

True enough, but more related to sensitivity of the silly HEUI injectors and high pressure oil pump setup.

I haven't done a UOA in decades. At that time I was using Fleetguard. I was having fits with two different Ferds with the junk Cornbinder 6.9 diesels and oil consumption. They both had very high iron, but the one was off the charts. I figured test results would help me convince Ferd to do the...

Looks like I'm never buying RAM again...

I am well aware, and have rebuilt numerous 300 Ford, and 292 GM I-6 engines at my late friend's machine shop. I also am driving my third Dodge/Ram/Cummins, so six-in-a-row is not alien to me. On Edit: I'll add that is 1986, back in my foolish Ford days, I ordered an F-250, and opted for the 302...

Not if it's both, and the comparison is valid. I am not conflating anything.

Looks like I'm never buying RAM again...

Did I say "more reliable"? How reliable is reliable? 200K, 300K? For the vast majority of owners, a gas engine that goes 200K without major failures would likely be considered "reliable". There will likely be teething issues, but I'd wager the Hurricane will do that. Oh, and having owned an...

Looks like I'm never buying RAM again...

There is a smidge more to the story, though, as the SO has more horsepower, and a much better/fatter torque curve than the 5.7 Hemi. What are you going to compare the HO to? The Scat Pack 392 has never appeared in the 1500, and the Hellcat TRX is a whole 'nother animal. I am a V-8 fan, but if...

Never tried it, but when I was running 5W40 RL in my 6.4 my buddy with a 5.7 misunderstood me, and ran an OCI or two of 10W40 RL. No tick, no codes, no problems.

    HELP! 2020 Ecodiesel Engine Failure

While the 6.2 was a crank-snapping piece of junk, it was the disastrous Olds 350 diesel that was the diesel-to-gas engine swap king.

There are several individual noises lumped into the term "tick". I can say that besides "general noisiness", my 6.4 made that tapping/knocking noise, but at lower volume, and Red Line did kill it. Thanks to this forum, I addressed it right away, and didn't keep driving until it progressed too far.

2011 6.7 Low oil pressure, low coolant, and over full on dipstick

Coolant/water in oil will give a milky appearance. Pre-DEF 6.7s were heavy EGR and were known for oil dilution AKA "making oil". Agree on oil analysis recommendation.

I ran AZF in my old 6.4 when it was first introduced, and my engine sounded like a thrashing machine on it. I mean really, really bad. I'd wager there have been reformulations, as others have used it with success.

    2023 2500 6.7 Fuel Filters Help

I'm sure that doesn't help, but even the proper air filters seem to be perpetually on backorder from Mopar. Given the controversy over "with glue strips", and "without glue strips", and the potential for throwing codes is a bummer with that. Even Fleetguard is supplying an air filter that is now...

    2023 2500 6.7 Fuel Filters Help

I do not buy filters off Amazon or ebay, nor did I recommend the OP do that. While I do use Mopar, the availability has been very poor. Lots of backorders. As I pointed out, the rear filter is made by Parker/Racor, and so are Baldwin filters. I ran them, when necessary, on my 2019 with zero...
